esford90's 1990 CRX Si Build

i bought 4 different size belts jsut so i can try them all and now i have to return them all haha

its getting to the point where its really getting me mad that im this stupid, if anyone one wants to come over and take a look i would appreciate it…

i really dont understand why even a belt thats barley smaller than the one I have isnt even going over both pulleys, maybe mine is measured in inside diameter and all the new ones are measured in outside diameter?

nope i even took the bolt right out of the top of the bracket so the alternator would side forward even more

well, after being pissed all day, i just got back from my girlfriends house and i forced that F***ing thing on…im surprised it went on but i forced it on…it wont be coming off unless i cut it

after i got it over the two pulleys it was really tight so i stuck my pry bar in there to make sure it was tight and it hardly moved a quater of an inch…but everything is tight and on there so start up to come this friday once i go over all of my wiring and shit to make sure everything is good to go

good to hear dude! just bled the clutch in my civic a few days ago… thanks for the line haha

no problem buddy

All of the fuel lines are done. I ran the fuel pump a couple times and there are no visible leaks so far.

I got my radiator hoses and those are on.

What I have Left To do before Registration of the vehicle  :

  1. well since rywire messed up i now have to cut the injector plugs off and solder the ones that were on the stock harness on
:fu: i knew that there wasnt going to be something 100% about the harness i ordered, i would send it back but i dont have the time
  2. Buy a hose to loop my two coolant lines that used to go to the heater core
  3. Fill Coolant
  4. Make a Transmission ground
    5.Check over everything once more

Then Start It

If all goes well i will problably have it running friday afternoon

Im waiting for a shiftlinkage i ordered from swerve. I will problably have to adjust the cable a little bit for the clutch once i get it rolling. And i have to make a bracket for my throttle cable, or i may just buy a DA integra one (I think thats the one that i need to make the stock bracket work?)

it lives!

she started right up! congrats man. it was awesome. I can’t wait until the linkage is in and you let me drive it

Awesome man!

thanks guys, yeah it did start right up…i was happy that i did all of the wiring correct

im gona start piecing the interior back together and by the time I get the linkage in i will hopefully be able to drive it…i still need to file down the edge of one of my axles because whoever took the axles out of the car in japan beat the fuck out of it to get it out of the hub. i couldnt even start the bolt on it so it shouldnt take too long.

double post ^^^ i hate my computer

damn this thing is clean! lookin good dood.

Heres a picture of the fuel feed line.

Heres my fuse box that used to be mounted on the shock tower…I bolted it on a bracket that was located right behind my glovebox, so it will be easily accessable.

I used what was left of my kevlar plate to dress this up a little rather than having a black metal plate that I was using last year.

A whole shot of the interior back in, I have the seats in now and the steering wheel…an aftermarket steering wheel (keys racing or vertex) is on the wish list.

Here’s some engine bay pictures and an outside shot…the purple oil cap is going, i painted it just to see what it looks like…only reason why its on there is because i havent ordered the cap I want yet.

Updates of how it drives will be soon to come after i get my shift linkage this week.

Looks damn good man!

thanks man, i need to check the timing because its not running 100% right

one of my favorite build threads on the site. hopefully i can see it in person at a meet sometime

Clean, great job!

nice job ryan. If you need an extra set of hands to help u do something let me know, ill be out that way this weekend

Mad impressed with how it turned out!!! when you started talking about what you wanted to do with it last summer i was a bit skeptical with the different engine bay color but holy shit it looks sexy lol . By the way it kinda sounds like a subaru not like thats bad or anything i just dont think we expected that when we fired it up

um yeahhhh…it sounds like a subaru because the motor that they sent me is fucked, I had andy from swerve come over and we started pulling plugs on the engine to find out which cylinder could not be firing correctly. When we pulled cylinder 3’s plug the motor ran the same

Soooo something is wrong with cylinder 3…maybe a bent valve idk, my warranty is up on the motor tomorrow haha so I wrote to toronto jdm and they better help me out

Did you at least do a compression test?

A misfire on a cylinder can be caused by no spark and no fuel too. You did say you had to do some re-wiring…
