esford90's 1990 CRX Si Build

it better be done for carlisle joe or ill be riding with you buddie  haha

finished sanding down all the bondo in the engine bay, im primering it tomorrow and i will have pictures up

i also ordered brand new bearings and snap rings from hasport for the cable to hydro conversion that i picked up from laymone a while back

pictures of both will be up sometime tomorrow

i sandblasted everything after taking out the old snap rings and bearings, then replaced them with the ones that hasport provided me

i dont have any before pictures i dont think, but they were all scratched up and shit…plus i like the look of bear aluminum better than polished anyways

i might paint them an aluminum color to protect it a little better

after hours and hours of applying bondo and sanding it down on the framerails and the firewall just to clean it up a bit, i got it all sanded and partially primed

i ran out of paint and i picked some more up today but didnt have time to get home to work on the car

i need to tape everything off too before i prime near the windshield and crossmember

u hand sanded everything?!!??

no i had an electric sander, some things i had to hand sand

oh i almost forgot…as soon as this check i just deposited clears i will be ordering the motor, and hopefully a week or shortly after there will be a motor in my driveway

idk where my mounts are, but they should be at swerve soon

Did you order avid mounts?

innovative

did you order your motor from toronto jdm? i ordered an h22 from them a week ago and it came in pretty fast and looked pretty darn good.

yeah im ordering it from torontojdm in the next couple days…how fast was it to your house?

i think it was like 5-7 days, forgot when i ordedred but it came in like the next week

cool, i got a couple items i ordered from summit in today, one of which is my trick flow fuel filter and a couple fittings

the whole engine bay is in primer now and ready for paint, im thinking i might just wait till march to paint it, just incase if i have to drill holes for my fuel setup. i havent decided exactly how i want it yet

You aren’t taping off anything in the bay for the primer??

yeah i did that today lol, thats why only the front was in primer, ill have pictures up in a couple hours of the completed primer job

here are some pictures of the engine bay all primered…i kind of like the color lol

this is the fuel filter that ill be using, im trying to think of a way to mount it to the firewall

Not sure about how picky you are getting with the bay but the primer looks rather light in some areas. Also, you should have covered up the subframe. For the filter you can get a little flexible clamp and bolt it to the firewall like they use to hang fuel lines under a car.

im going to drop the subframe out after i get the car back from paint to paint it black again so i didnt bother taping it off, im gona tape it off for the real paint tho because primer is a little bit easier to get off haha

it does look light in some areas, i didnt notice that till i looked at the pictures…my garage isnt the most well lit…i guess ill have to buy one more can and touch it up

Eastwood carries a pretty durable paint for suspension components you may want to look into. It will take a few rocks and not have a problem. Also the plastic paint they have at walmart works pretty damn good for things like that. It’s rather durable for the price, though it’s not the prettiest.

thanks, ill look into that

honda guys: the transmission im using has an elctronic vss and i was wondering if there was a cable vss that would work in the transmission im using for the time being until i get a new cluster…when i do get the new cluster (if i have the money too this winter) does anyone know how to do a jdm crx cluster swap. im not the greatest at wiring so any information/help would be appreciated
