used to happen to me every night. I sleep with my arm under the pillow, and my head on top of the pillow, on top of my arm.

I got a memory foam pillow at Target and it hasn’t happened since :tup:

i get this all the time. one time i my arm fell asleep while i was shitfaced and when i woke up it was curled in like it had died lol.

I’ll have to go buy a memory foam pillow from target and see if it helps.

It’s definitely a wierd feeling waking up and having your arm just lying there and you cant have full functionality of it.

I think there was a similar thread about a foot or both feet going numb when taking a long shit…definitely happens to me there. Sucks too because if i walk out of the bathroom limping/walking weird i get all kinds of interesting looks, especially after i drop the kids off at the pool at work.

Welcome to my world.My left arm has been numb for a yr and a half now and dr’s seem useless.It’s a pinched nerve and since it goes away for you, you are just aggavating it when you are sleeping.

I broke my arm bad in a motocross accident.

the broken bone took out a nerve running to my index/middle/thumb fingers… this was when I was 15. I tried everything, electro therapy, acupuncture etc

Once your nerve is damaged, there is NO WAY to repair it, unless it repairs it self, which is usually never does.

My left hand has a constant pins/needles feel, it fucking blows.

Once woke up and didn’t realize one of my legs was COMPLETELY asleep still…tried to stand up out of bed and just fell straight to the side…got lucky too since i landed with my head falling/fitting perfectly between my bed and nightstand…coulda been a pretty bad mess had my head bounce off the bed into the nightstand, or worse i land with head right on the corner of said nightstand. Still freaks me out how lucky i got lol…

Normally happens when I end up sleeping on my stomach and for some reason am putting all my weight on that arm. Mine normally goes “dead” though… where I can’t move it, feel it, or anyting. It’s painfull as hell as it wakes up though.

Mine goes dead to i cant move it or feel anything but it only happens when i sleep on my stomach and put my arm under the pillow. It usually comes back in a few min. It sucks.

i sleep like that, and occasionally get the numb arm, however it normally wakes me up and I move.

My question is, with the memory foam, is it hot?

I always assumed anything made of foam would hold heat pretty heavily.
being too warm deffinatly keeps me awake and makes me misserable.

I’ve got a memory foam pillow that I think is actually cooler than a normal one. I paid like $120 for it at Brookstone and it came with a nice cover that is supposedly different from a normal pillow case and you’re not supposed to use a normal pillow case because it doesn’t let it conduct heat properly blah blah blah. I probably got sold snake oil and it’s the same as a target memory foam pillow, but regardless of that the result is that I’ve got a memory foam pillow that I love and is cooler and waaaaay more comfortable than a normal pillow.

2 fingers worth of subluxation in my right shoulder, destroyed the shoulder and can’t afford the time off to have it fixed, came up twice on surgery waiting lists but working with my hands i can’t take the time off for surgery, or the months of rehab afterward sadly. i’ll regret it later in life but whatever…

lol you too?! i did somehting similar in HS. i fell asleep sitting with my head in my hands and elbows on top of my thighs and when the bell rang 80 mins later i woke up and tried to stand up not knowing my legs were both asleep and wiped out my desk and the one next to me!

also i broke my collarbone snowboarding this winter and had to have a plate, 9 screws and some wire put in to patch me up and now it falls asleep randomly. even worse is if i move it in the wrong direction sometimes it just goes limp and i lose control. ive broken and dropeed so many glasses and other things its unreal.
