Evo Vs Sti on slipping clutch

wait wait wait… how bout the fact i had 4 of you ask me to run the evo before i ever shut my car door. EVERYONE knew my clutch was shit and on its way out before i ever ran you. my shit was slipping when i ran boostin camaro a month ago. it has gotten progressively worse, and i got rid of the 3" catback i had on it because it was just fucking obnoxious loud… you wanna keep running your mouth thats fine but you STILL lost.

I wasn’t there but I didn’t know your clutch was shit. All I knew was that you thought this evo was so fucking slow that some N/A k20 would beat it, and you were “touched that you want me to race, but i’ll let you guys handle this one”.

you guys are acting like Travis is making excuses for his car’s less than impressive victory of the evo. He has been complaining about this clutch slipping for a long time. Since you guys are new to the boards you probably were not aware of that and I guess I can see where you are coming from. I cannot vouch the accuracy of the clutch slippage situation, but he has been whining about it for awhile. His stock exhaust has been on for a long time too, iirc. Something about a leak and it being really loud.

i gave the evo some props that it was quick no doubt, but it still lost… there is NO NEED to go above 150mph on a pull… as i stated before u are getting more into aerodynamics than power at those speeds.

i said nothing about racing a big turbo evo. the 4g63 is a potent motor and more “mod friendly” but the fact remains i beat the stock turbo bolt on/cammed evo.

Your car is fast as well. There is no need to go over 150 MPH, and I understand you letting off, that’s the right thing to do when your getting pulled on, that way you can sit here on the internet and bask in the glory of your victory.

also it went a best of 13.01@120 with stock 30k miles clutch, with zero launch, he left the line from a normal street driving RPM.

another FP green Evo, this one from orlando, made 460whp with a jestr tune, 93octane, 100% meth, 32psi, GSC stage 2 cams, AMS race FMIC and normal bolt ons. was tuned by John Estrada, and Niro of TITAN Motorsports…

ive said it once, and ill say it again, an Evo IX with cams, tuned, meth,3in TBE and an FMIC even on a stock 10.5cm^2 turbo will make upper 300AWHP… the MIVEC heads on the IX’s does alot for the 4G63

i dont think it even matters, both cars are fast. but racing with a known bad clutch is recipe for a bad day… fix that discrepancy

4th/5th gear=high load=clutch even more prone to slipping=yeah, the evo pulls up high. duh.

IF travis had a front mount, wasnt such a bitch about his exhaust, and wasnt a moron and actually put a decent clutch behind his freshly built motor, you would have gotten walked. harder.

Now that I’ve stood up for travis once this year, I feel like my job here is done.
