Yeah especially the TR
hahaha evo gets the vote for me, i saw like 5 evos last year going real fast last year and not 1 suby in the 11’s…
4g63 > EJ20 and EJ25, as for the track Evo still, the fastest time attack at Scuba (spelling) circuit is held by the HKS Carbon Fiber Evo 7.
The Petty’s want a race. who’s stepping up with a Evo?
an Evo without serious mods…like cams.
Has to be pretty equal with what I have on my STi.
EM, CAI, lightened crank pulley, 3"catless turboback exhaust…thats all folks
hmmm maybe its cause you have more mods done than most STi’s around here…cracking the engine to switch out cams isn’t exactly lightly modded.
Aw come on! cams are like bolt ons and becasue the sti comes factory 300hp and the evos only 280 wouldnt they(cams) even it out?! Just ask gt420hp. Hes got cams, chip, exhaust on his evo :blue:
The basis of this thread is what car is the best value for the money and its turned into which is faster on the 1320. Now you’re talking mods and such, its like apples to oranges but if you get the hp numbers equal with the other numbers of the cars(weight, dimensions, etc) wouldnt that make it a better comparison? …or are you just skeered :hsugh: :burnout: :kekegay:
Yeah I guess it did get off topic. I think a base WRX TR would be the better value 23,995 msrp. You get the 2.5, slap on a vf-39, STi Tmic, COBB AP and you have a car that can do high 12’s to low 13’s On another forum a guy with that setup ran a 12.3. I think he was a bit overboosting, but a good time none the less
I would race a comparatively modded EVO. If I lose I lose no biggy. Just seems nobody respects the Subies, and if it wasn’t for the WRX comin over we would have neither of these cars.
I ran a 12.8 before I put my cams in , fuel pump, and the cam gears. So the only mod I had was 3" inch exhaust all around and the Vishnu chip. I didn’t lose to any WRX’s that I raced.
With the cams, gears, and fuel pump, the car should run 12.1’s if I can get a good 60’.
Um no its called gearing… STi 6 speed Evo 5 speed…
I think emissions reasons…or just wanting to give North America a bigger engine because americans crave them…who knows.
I think they said in the video that the audi did this first… not Mitsu or Suby… so its all Audi … you wouldn’t have your wrx/sti… or the evo…
I have known a few STI owners, and the cars seem to be less consistent, and slightly over-rated on power, whereas Evos are pretty consistent, and seem to be under-rated.
all talk so far who wants to get layed down it dont even matter. beat ass stock clutch with 16k miles on her and i will still put down well matched sti’s
fmfkid’s civic > evo/sti :booty:
kolars “guns” > you all!
I am up to meet any WRX’s at PRP this Friday. (Keep the rain away). It’s bikini night I believe.
are you the one that won the “fastest tuner car” at flashlights a few weeks back?
Ford > Evo > STi
maybe.
