well got 3 guys together and push/pulled and kicked it into the garadge. now I’m not sure where to put my bikes. but thats for another day.
new motar ftw
This thread had better shape up really fast.
did you manage to get the garage to warm up at all ?
if you did, did it help ?
this might be kinda out there, but when u initially couldnt start the car, was the battery dead? i was thinking if that was the case, it might have erased something in your ECU that is now preventing it from starting (like a tune setting or something along those lines causing the car to say “this isn’t right”)
^ yeah but a re-flashed computer wont lose the tune when the battery dies. trust me. that would be expensive if you didnt have your own tuning equipment.
o i heard somewhere that if you left the battery dead or disconnected for long enough it would reset itself.
^^^ yea, thats just the fine tuning (learning) that all ECU’s do, the base tune is still there
Get that thing running yet?
On some setups you are absolutely correct, but not with the type of reflash he has.
isnt that more likely to happen with a handheld tuner, like a Hypertech or Superchips type thing, or odes it more ir less depend on the car?
back on topic, any progress with the EVO yet?
I think the basics need to be covered first. You’ll drive yourself nuts thinking about all the reasons why its not starting.
You need a service manual. There are steps and procedures to properly diagnose a “no start.”
Good thing Mitsubishi still sells these in a paper version. I believe the service manual runs about $150 if Im not mistaken. Klemann picked up one at Dan Georger, but I believe it’s a “special order” item and takes a few days to get in. Good luck getting the whip running again.
hrm
just throwing it out there
I went and got plugs the stock Iridiums didnt look to bad. there stock not colder.
Im running outside right now to put them in and try.
it started yayayayayayaya. Im saprised the old plugs really didnt look that bad. but I guess 25 psi eats plugs
congrats, good to hear you got it running
Ah… Had you mentioned you were running Iridiums I would have suggested you remove that crap from your car.
Stick with NGK coppers and you’ll be in good shape.
