Frozen fuel line got me this winter. Had to drygas the thing up, shes runnin now.
I know nothing about an accord, but This is a common problem on civics when the main relay is bad, if the accord uses a main relay (its under the dash on the driver side) you should hear 2 clicks when you turn the key on.

the gf got home from school and i wanted her to start it for me while i tested the spark… well i went to give it a shot before i tried that and it fired right up like nothing had ever happened

That sucks, I know how you feel, I went to home from college to get some stuff a few months ago(before i killed the Prizm), as soon as I pulled the car into the garage and put it in park, the exhaust broke off right at the back of the catalytic converter. It was like literally the moment the car stopped, I hear a metallic thunk. Ended up having to spend the night at home and missed all my classes the next day while I waited for my Dad to get home from a short vacation the family was on so he could give me the money for the piping I needed. Silver lining was I knew I was gonna miss class so I called a few friends over and polished off a handle of vodka.
