first off, my car is a 1990 240sx = SOHC KA24E .well today, i was looking under the hood and found a rubber hose was sorta ripped out. i think it is somewhat connected to the EGR valve and thought, maybe thats why my NO is high. i removed the hose and found that there was black powdery stuff in it…also the metal valve is filled with it. i tried taking some pics (used a phone cam…can’t find my other digicam). will post them up soon. so i would like to know if this is the actual problem why i am failing the etest. thanks.

that metal valve is filled with dark black powder just like that hose. any suggestions on cleaning it?
brake clearner or throttle body cleaner will work
is just carbon build ups…
