Truth
Brown shoes with short white socks?
Man, I just can’t get with any of this… i’m always so confused.
Some of the stuff here is just…awful…
Yeah there are a couple different ratings I’d use:
- Good - Everything is tailored, looks good, doesn’t necessarily need to be “traditional”.
- Meh - You’re stretching the wardrobe or article of clothing a bit, but it works in a weird way
- WTF - It looks stupid and you cover it by saying “it’s expensive”, “this is why you’re not in fashion”, or “this is the latest trend”. You look like a fucking cunt. (See shorts example)
Everything looks well minus the white socks as mentioned above and the higher top dress shoes with shorts (short shorts besides) which is a no no IMO.
Call me ill informed, but I like my black shoes.
And saw this today…
I have some black shoes as well. Ie: Black dress shoes that go with black/grey slacks or a suit.
Also got a pair of black on black Clark’s as a Christmas gift that are :tif:
I could never take anyone seriously if they wore some of those suits. They don’t look professional at all.
Reminds me of white sunglasses. Get the f out of here.
I prefer Cole Haan for lower priced professional shoes. Stop at the outlet and pick some up for around ~$100-150. I do slip on ones.
Love me some black shoes.
Question: I always feel hesitant to go grey slacks/brown shoes. I tend to lean grey/black. Discuss.
Brown belt and a shirt that works well with brown. Only time I’ve second guessed myself with grey slacks/brown shoes was with a purple shirt because I think it clashed. I threw on a maroon cardigan though and it pulled it together sufficiently. Some of the more fashion-forward lads may have a different take though. Just my $0.02
i probably didnt wear my black double monks or cap toes even once in 2013… i’d basically give them away at this point. rotation is 2 pairs of brown AE shoes (jacksons and new orleans), grey suede chukkas and now a brown pair of AE boots… everything else are casual shoes.
only time people will really call foul on wearing brown shoes is with a black suit; but i’d still go brown on that now… just needs to be a nicer, slimmer shoe that’s all. if you’re going to wear boxy browns then you’re going to look silly anyways. mind you, if you work in trades or industry you would look silly dressing like this for work anyways so i can understand opposition to it.
black suits are off trend anyways. greys, blues, browns or sport jackets with contrasting pants are with it.
^I’m partial to gray/charcoal anyway, it really is versatile and goes better with any color than black I think. What size are those black shoes, what would you want for them?
they’re harry rosen and saks house brands… size 9 both…
I’d have to agree. I’ll pick gray/charcoal over black any day.
Too small for me. 10.5 here.
Yellow shorts, brown shoes, white sunglasses and a pastel blue suit coat.
“trendy”
Black shoes are out…
Next pic posted…black shoes…back in?
Or are black dress shoes only allowed while wearing shorts and a sport coat?
This is too confusing…I will just go back to Kohls
LOL
