that’s happened to me twice… but it was those damn koreans.
Koreans…
great bbq
Anyone use these guys http://www.bureaumade.com/
I need to grab a few more suits for some stupid month long on site gig.
maybe you should look at the top of this page or the prior page
not sure if anyone has used them but they seem legit.
You should definitely make an appointment to see these guys! I was in the other day thumbing through all of the material look-books, very cool stuff.
You happen to catch what their pricing looks like?
If I remember correctly, suits start at $650 and work their up depending on materials used.
Don’t quote me on it, but I’m pretty sure that is what it was.
Jon (co-owner) is a good friend of mine, mention Dan Hagen sent you down.
I’m here at Bureau now, just driving past to Josh’s an saw the place and parked. Jon is fitting me up for a shirt now.
I’ll report back.
Nice
Anyone know what dress shirts kevin spacey wears in house of cards? The fit is spectacular.

probably custom stuff for him that the show pays for that he gets to keep
speaking of which, Bureau was pretty cool. Small shop, very contemporary and it’s cool to see young guys doing this sort of thing. We had a long chat about it there that a lot of the places that do custom stuff are old and stodgy. I really liked the cut and features of some of the suits they had on display. I’m going to start with just the shirt but we’ll see where that goes.
for the shirt, the measurements were pretty standard but the patterns that could be selected were pretty limitless. They have a number of complete sample shirts around to pick the finer points like placket, collar and cuff etc. There were some nice pearl button options and you could pick the stitching colour for the button holes to contrast. Then i opted to have the cuff and the inside of the neck monogrammed.
even though they send everything out to be made it doesn’t go overseas which was a key point for me. I believe they use places in NYC and Atlanta for various production. I have to go back in 2-3 weeks when it the first version comes back. Really looking forward to it.
because i maxed out the options it was $165 + tax for the shirt, you can keep it to $145 i think. I know you can get cheaper online but there is value in doing this in person.
What do shirts at a place like that run you?
For years I’ve been buying the crappy off the shelf department store ones that don’t fit the greatest and seem to wear out in 6 months. I’d like to get some nice, quality, tailored ones but at the same time don’t really have the money to dump into a bunch, especially when my position/company is business casual at best.
yup. Suits were $650 - $750 depending on specs. there were other things there like ties, bowties, cufflinks etc. but i didnt ask about any of that
I’ve had bad luck at Express. Shirts are thin, and wear out after a couple washes.
Stafford Shirts are great if you aren’t looking to spend a ton and still want a “tailored” look
I bought a shirt at my go-to Calvin Klein outlet and it is nice, except I bought the wrong length.
I understand there is a difference between a $15 dress shirt and a $95 dress shirt. If you are keeping it relatively casual I’d recommend JC Penney and stafford. I think anytime you start wearing a suit on a regular basis, you need to up your game.
This is the look I’m after.
Very nice fitting shirts.
Yeah, right now I go with Stafford but they seem to wear out quickly. They tips of the collars and cuffs end up wearing the color off them.
I was fine with that when I can find them on sale for $15 but I haven’t been able to find them cheaper than $25 in months.
I have the same problem with the Docker pants I wear. They are now $35+ on sale and last 6 months tops.
yo, anyone wanna do a group buy on these? Cashmere track suits for $50,000
If I didn’t just buy some I would

I just started watching house of cards and noticed that for casual shirts Spacey is wearing Nautica in many scenes.
Apparently there are IWCs a plenty in the series. I’m not a watch guy so it’s much harder for me to tell.
