personally I think there were weapons in Iraq because he had used them before and he didn’t get rid of them cause the UN inspectors didn’t find any evidence the got rid of them. nor did they find any that he had them. Bush is doin the best with what he’s got and he is cutting welfare so he gets my vote. did anyone ever think that this country was never founded as a Democracy? It was based as a republic and that is why our laws are so fucked up now because the actual nation has changed.

Anyways I agree with Bosted on the tax breaks are there to try and bring back all the jobs that are lost over seas, only porblem is they need to regulate it further somehow. What I mean is some of these big companies still lay people off after these tax braks and just pocket the money and over work their current work force. They need somthing that says if you get these tax cuts you can;t be laying people off saying you don;t make enough to support it.

I beg to differ. We are at war to remove a Dictator and his army that are a threat to the safety of our country, and we are helping them to restore thier country. I dont know why liberals are complaining (you know, how liberals are…“help others”, “be nice to everyone”, blah, blah, blah) You should all be happy that we are helping them.

It’s too politicized. Even if GWB ended world hunger, stopped all violence across the world, and liberated every person from opression, the dems would find some way to criticize him to try to make their party look good. This bi-partisan stuff needs to end in this country and our leaders need to do what is right and not go against the other side no matter what.

Why would a conservative want to spend money to help iraqi’s.
That war costs alot of money, if welfare is such a big expense why spend money to help the iraqi’s.
Saddam wasn’t that big of a threat, he certainly wasn’t at the top of the threat list.
Besides, look at how many people are still attacking our troops over there. It’s these people that will be the next group of terrorists just like the saudi’s are the ones carrying out terrorist attacks now after we “helped” them in the first war.

My point exactly… Too many people run around thinking they know the truth behind the numbers. Do a little research on this supposed “surplus” under Clinton. What you’ll find is that our country’s “surplus” was the government buying on credit. In Lehman’s terms, the government under Clinton had a nice Capital One credit card, and used that to purchase. And as all good things come to an end, the economy ruptured in 2000 because of this.

Yeah those look like facts to me. That whole tirade was all opinion.
You say that kerry wants to put an extra 50 cent tax on gas. The only place this was ever mentioned was a bush campaign ad which is apparently where you get all your information. The ad was referring to a 1993 bill that John Kerry didn’t vote for or sponsor. It isn’t talking about what he plans to do.
However In Fortune Magazine, Gregory Mankiw, President Bush’s Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisors, argued that a 50 cent gas tax is a necessary component of income tax cuts. He explained that “cutting income taxes while increasing gasoline taxes would lead to more rapid economic growth, less traffic congestion, safer roads, and reduced risk of global warming–all without jeopardizing long-term fiscal solvency. This may be the closest thing to a free lunch that economics has to offer.”
