ive never really understood the point of having a handgun that you conceal on you at all times, i have a few friends who have their permits and they never end up using the gun
im not against guns at all, just against having them for anything but hunting
Yeah, she told me about 10 weeks, but my friend who got his last year in Erie County got his license from Albany less than 2 weeks after dropping off the final paperwork downtown.
And my god I hate downtown Buffalo so much. For those of you who drive there daily… how do you not snap and just start mowing down all the assholes who just walk out in front of your car?
if you have a moving start they pussy out. I came so close to one with my side-view mirror before that he actually fell over backwards of his own accord leaning the other way.
History has proven time and time again that an armed population is a safer population. The problem does not lie with citizens who obtain firearms the legal way, its the illegal ones that cause problems. I did a report in college about right to carry laws. I believe it was in 2006, Florida issued something like 1.2 million pistol permits. something like 153 of them were used illegaly. that is a margain of less than 0.001% or some shit. Just remember, more people die in a month in the US from drunk driving than from being shot from a legally obtained firearm in 10 years.
It is actually illegal to make people wait so long to get a pistol permit. But like they say. You can’t fight city hall.
100 for application
75 for the class(varies though)
10 Pic
10 fingerprints
20 for the card
so thats 215, add another 500 to buy the gun to finish it all off and your right under 800 after tax, etc. not counting time off to go downtown to file the paper work.
And you like the trigger system on a clock? No safety and short and light trigger?
I’m not a glock fan, they are a good gun. I hate the trigger pull, and the grip angle. I got a Beretta PX4 about 7 months ago, and love it. If you are looking for a cheap gun to shoot where the grips are similar to that of a glock, look into a reuger mkIII .22 cal.
I have an H+K USP .45 and I love it. Firehawk and I were just shooting yesterday actually at the Niagara Falls indoor range.
The one and ONLY thing I like about where I live (Allegany County) is that from the day I mailed in my stuff I had my permit within 3 weeks. I also don’t need to wait 2 weeks to add a gun… it takes about 5 whole minutes. I even sold the Judge who issued me the permit a car a month later.
The red dot is not needed on this gun. As when I say I don’t like glock, i down right hate them, along with the springfield xd. They both suck for me to shoot, good guns i hear, but i hate them. Only thing that came close without going into a kimber or springfielf 1911 was the sig sauer, and they are up there with the 1911’s. Also size was a factor with a CCW for the little I use it for it. The PX4 is great, accurate and dependable. Names not out there for these yet since they are fairly new over the past few years. The 92 is a great gun and 1911 like feel, just to big. I do love the PX4 and I have shot my fair share of hand guns over the years.
Joe, for a cheaper option on handling on shooting, look into the browning .22 auto, cheaper to shoot and feels close. I got the ruger mkIII and love it as well.
My fathers friend passed away last night and i was offered a 9mm… upon research, i found its a very unreliable, known to fail, cheap piece… so i passed on it…
sorry to hear about your father’s friend. but the 9mm is not unreliable at all, is the NATO round for hand guns and now rifles are getting into them, non nato though. The gun itself could be known to fail, unreliable and cheap, but the round themselves are not. What kind was it, if you don’t mind me asking?
I just remembered BRYCO… its not the round thats unreliable, they said the gun was notorious for malfunctioning and exploding… and thanks for the condolences… dont ever start smoking… it was a horrible last 3 weeks. I’m thankful he went fast
