loving all the haters, i hate the 4g63 because it is a shitty engine that can run 6’s and trap over 200 in the 1/4. one of these days you might realize your car is slow and you want 4g63:mpd:

i have never had a 4g63 strand me in the 5+ years of driving them (no coincidence either since i drove a different one every few months). you my friend are a moron. keep drifiting yo, maybe you will get in the next fast and furious.

lol @ diamond star motor lovers getting all bent out of shape. Remember you only get 3 out of 5 stars and that includes crank walk. Yes 4g63s put out some crazy fast power. But i can do the same with a honda, motor and never have to rebuild the motor more than once.

by the way running an 14,16 or 18g at 21psi when it runs out of efficency at 15, doesn’t say much. I lol @ my dsm buddy saying he just turns up the boost. Cranking boost past efficency does NOT make more power.

Not all 4G63s crankwalk. It actually doesn’t happen that often. I have never crankwalked a car. Nether has Skrapper, TurboTSi, Orzech, and I don’t think DeviousTSi has either and he’s owned like 30 of them.

They rep good DSM’ers. The ones that due proper upgrades and do proper maintenance. Kinda like Hondas get made fun of because of how many Hondas are riced out so that is the general perception of “all hondas”. And just like a few bad dsms were poorly modded and cared for, so they broke, and now “All dsm’s” are prone to crank walk. Also I too have never crank walked and i am on my 6th dsm :slight_smile:

any of those turbos listed do not even come close to running out at 15 psi. Multiple people have gone 10’s on those turbos listed.
Tell your buddy to stop just turning dials and to actually tune the car.

well between devious, shott, myself, we have had probably 100 dsm’s and i havent heard a crankwalk experience yet.

I run a 16g at almost 30 psi, and it still run’s just fine! I picked up A LOT more power from 15 psi to 28 psi :eekdance:

You do realize that crankwalk is highly misdiagnosed by people that don’t know what the hell their talking about? I’ve heard numerous people try to tell me that their motors CW’d and it turns out to be a broken rod or something else. People just throw the word out there when they blow a motor because its simple for them to “diagnose”

As Chris said, thats the reason why DSM’s have a horrible rep. Yes some of them crankwalked. If you really want to get specific and hurt your so called stats a little bit, people say all 7 bolts crankwalk. 97-99 blocks are split thrust bearing motors, which I have never seen one crankwalk. Yes it happens more than an average motor in a 95-96 but to the extent that most people think, isn’t true.

You’re acting like only the 100 cars that they had were ones that didn’t CW, I’m sure there are thousands of other people who have not had one CW, me being one of them and I’ve had 3 95’s

Makes big power, unreliable but not as bad as a rotary. But close. Anyone i have ever known to have one sinks a shitload of money into them. beit for more power or just to keep it on the road.

in any of my previous posts i have not stated numbers for stats. The rotary numbers were an estimate, not a true example.

I actually do not know all numbers of cars produced with 4g63 motors. Or rotary for that matter.
