FS:350 s10- FYI

Testing the waters on the s10. I just bought a 2003 Camary in May for DD so I don’t really need this DD anymore, it just wasting my money in a way. I was planning on selling it in August, so I figured I’d throw it out there right now.

Specs:
86 and up 350 block with 1 peice rear main.
Actual motor is from my old 89 Silverado. Motor had 220k on it when pulled.
Motor was rebuilt, but it had a bad rod so it spun a bearing at 420miles, I rebuilt it again this time with new rods and crank and it now had just over 650miles with no problems. It used to be a TBI engine. Everything is stock minus; Intake, carb, cam, headers and exhaust.

edelbrock 650 carb, will include holly 600 if you want to put it on and get that one running better. Wieland intake. Summit hydralic tappet lifters and comp cams springs. Cam @ 488in/510ex lift and 234in/244ex duration.
Stock heads are really holding this motor back, obviously if you know engines, you can see this cam is big for stock heads. I think the heads are 1.94/1.5 with 150cc intake or something along those lines. (vortec style heads) a good pair of 202/160s with 190cc intake would really get this truck rocking. I may have a set of heads for it that I will throw on as soon as I get them. Or if you buy this before that happens and find a set of heads. I will gladly install the heads for you free of charge.

The body had 191k
current motor has 650miles
700R4 Tranny has 4k on it.
stock 411 gears as this used to be a 2.2
Brand new gas tank and fuel pump put in last summer.
of course it as some rust on it on each side before the doors, new york for ya. I beleive it as a little on the tail gate as well, nothing some minor work wont fix. The truck also has a 2/3 drop. Traction bars and 16x8 rims off a sonoma, which I might add are also just about brand new, they only have been on the truck for 1k miles.

Including the cost of tires, rims, and extra parts that I’ve been having to buy. There is about 1500-2000 invested, mind you I do all my own work. that would be an easy 1k more if a shop would have done it.

Also has a system in it, cheap one I put together a few years ago just to half a little more sounds, 2 12 visoniks rated 300rms each with a crunk amp 700watt, what you want for 90 bucks. It doesn’t sound too bad in the s10.

Kelly Blue book retail value is over 4500 dollars in good shape.
I think I’d like to start the asking price at $3,000.00 or best offer, given I have about 2k invested plus the cost of the truck when I bought it, so I’ll be loosing atleast a grand right off the bat. I just have no need for this anymore as it used to be my DD and I now have a 03 camry. Money from this sale will go towards the new car. I’m not in a searious rush to sell as it is a fun cruiser to screw around in sometime. I’m sure I missed a ton of details, if your searious about it, talk to me anytime you see me at a meet or PM to set up a time for you to stop by and I’ll take you for a test run and what not…

Still has some bugs I’m working out, but when I sell it, it should be running perfect as it almost already is.

PS: I have a video of it running I’ll post soon as I get it up.

Good luck man. tis indeed a badass truck.

hmm considering s10’s dont come with v8s, it’s not bad

what year is it?

EDIT: tim doggy! what’s up dude!

phat no OBD-II

It’s a 95, Joel

ODB1 inspection friendly for life

great truck some one pick it up

i want to see the truck in person, possibly add it to my collection of S-series.

what kind of gas mileage does it get?

iam pretty dure he gets decent mileage

does it get out of its own way?

 thats a different question. I’d say it’s a solid lo 14 second truck 13s probably with a 2500-3000 stall and/or heads, because it really needs heads, stockers own this truck bad. I’ll just say my guess with heads and stall is lo 13s for sure, maybe 12s, but that might be pushing it.

interior pics? engine bay? plzkthxbye!

just look at it when you see it at a meet, I’ll get some up soon anyway…

also, if someone wants just the rolling chase so they can put a real motor in it, I’ll take out the motor & trans and sell it for like 1500…

that includes the already setup 5-7psi fuel system for carb, headers & exhaust, traction bars, rims, stock ones if wanted as well. Corvette rad… maybe some other things. so that is deffinatly worth it…

but if you just buy this truck, put on a good pair of heads and a stall, it’ll rock

trade considered?

very nice truck man! Not sure if there’s room to port those heads out or if you’d need new heads, but with a little more room to breathe, that cam/engine setup would make some very nice power. GL

yeah, good luck porting cast TBI heads

Can you hang onto it for a bit, id love that beast.

No I don’t need another project, thats why I’m selling the s10, I need to get my ta done already, only been 4 years

It would help a little, but cast iron heads take along time to port, plus these are tbi heads that are pretty small to begin with so it’d take awhile, it would be worth just spending money on bigger stock style vortecs, maybe older heads, or just a good pair of aftermarkets.

I wish I could hold it, but I really need the money now, I’m out of work for 2 months, someone hit me last night while I was riding the motorcycle. So I can’t work because I got a broken foot…

sucks, well maybe ill grab her the next time around.
