FS: Nissan RB30 Motor- complete

Ok so who wants the skyline engine’s big brother?
I have had this thing sitting on my garage floor all winter and I’m fed up with tripping over it!
Yesterday we pulled the trans off it and put it up on a stand, I took some nice photos of it which Brent can post for me (thanks!) or I will email them to you.
The engine is complete and was running down in Oz’ before it was shipped to me, it’s complete with ECU, wiring and all the ancillairies, PS pump, AC compressor etc etc. It’s the 3 litre , straight 6 and this block is good for 1400+HP if you want to go crazy!
Best offer takes it, I can drive it to you for a fee, but I don’t feel like driving 7 hours to Buffalo unless it’s paid for in advance, get yer cash out, you know you want it:headbang:

Andy, does this bolt right up to the RB26 head? Same external dimensions?

newman this will work for you…do it

is it seriously a straight swap? Zero custom work?

Please add FS: to title

form what i understand…same mounts, bolt on the rb26 head, trnasfer all sensors to the rb30 block, clutch and flywheel are same i believe, the only thing im not to sure about is what dohc timing belt to use because the rb30 is sohc…with internals over a 1000 wheel is no problem…ill look into it and let you know for sure by the end of today for yea

I thought some work was needed for coolant passages? Can’t say I’ve ever researched it though.

Pictures on the way.

The dang drummer wants an RB30 block for the BMW- eek…
Christian if you want the thing I will stick it in the back of the van and drive it up to you- least I can do at this point!!!
Call me…

Hey I have an idea for you want to trade the RB26 block crank, rods and pistons for the complete RB30 lump, I have a spare RB 26 Skyline pan here and I’ll be needing a motor for the Skycuda project, hum I see the basis of a plan here, I’ll call you when I get 5 mins…
Cheers A

Bore and stroke

All Nissan engines follow a naming convention, identifying the engine family (in this case, RB), displacement, and features present- see the list of Nissan engines for detail.

The stock dimensions for the RB engines;

* RB20 - 2.0 L (1998 cc, bore: 78.0 mm, stroke: 69.7 mm)
* RB24 - 2.4 L (2428 cc, bore: 86.0 mm, stroke: 69.7 mm)
* RB25 - 2.5 L (2498 cc, bore: 86.0 mm, stroke: 71.7 mm)
* RB26 - 2.6 L (2568 cc, bore: 86.0 mm, stroke: 73.7 mm)
* RB30 - 3.0 L (2982 cc, bore: 86.0 mm, stroke: 85.0 mm)
* "D" indicates a double overhead cam as opposed to a single overhead cam
* "E" indicates the engine is fuel-injected as opposed to carbureted
* "T" indicates the engine has a factory installed turbocharger

Looks like the bore is the same…

i know that it bolts up. but I just don’t need to add a TON of custom work to my plate, but if it’s as easy as swapping the head…

search of pics of the 2 headgaskets

I did find this http://www.autospeed.com/cms/article.html?&A=0004

DOHC 24 valve RB25/RB26 head onto RB30 block

IDK how much that will help

That appears to be for putting an rb26 head on an RB30car. I would just be switching bottom ends.

I know one thing these motors are PLENTY strong, I think they go something like 750HP on the stock internals, I could be wrong and often am…
Thanks for posting the pics and if it’s of any interest we’re are going to fit the other RB30 into my buddy Bobbie’s S12 with an RB25 head- now that will be a little monster…

ah fuck, the block is an inch taller. My motor is only a hair off the hood as is.

Big woose fit a hood scoop, now that would be cool on a BM, dare to be different I say- tee hee

FMIC the STi, swap the scoop onto the BMW and get an extractor style replacement for the subie.
