stole anything metal that wasnt bolted down on the side of my dads shop. like 4 bumpers, a nice 1/4 from a cutlass ( it was bulky as hell too), fixable fender from my 70 GS, every steel wheel that we had for holding a tarp on my roller cutlass. fucking heorin junkies! everybody watch ur shit! two years ago we lost a 200r4 and a 383 block, so its not just one person. Probably two low lifes in a hunk of shit chevy. :madfawk:
damn that sucks bob…
but if it happened there b4 why would you guys not keep the stuff secure ?
wow
With the rising price of metal, I am not surprised. A lot of my clients are manufacturing companies that deal with copper, aluminum, stainless, and other metals and prices have just skyrocketed for their materials. A lot of manufacturing companies are dealing with this type of theft too.
That sucks dude!! … Fucking low lifes
Yeah that sucks, not to be a dick, but thats what you get for leaving shit outside without it being locked up in a fence. With the price of scrap high now and the shit ass economy its bound to happen.
the core support and 1/4 were both under tarps. i mean this wasn’t like a 1/4 skin this was about half a fuckin car. i cut that bitch off from about the center of the trunk. the steel wheels are no big deal and neither was some of the other shit but the fucking 1/4 is what i’m mad about. and no it not what i get. thats the wrong attitude. people shouldn’t be snooping around lookin under fuckin tarps stealin people shit.
open season on the junkman. fuck em
I was just having this discussion with a couple of other guys in the pool industry. People are stealing pool heaters to get at the copper insides, and a couple of service trucks got their cats cut out.
I bet thats the last time you leave junk outside…
someone needs to put the heat on scrapyards… they are gettin away scott free with recieving stolen property… hard to prove but you get one guy and then the rest will follow suit. you gotta start bein suspecious when someone rolls in with a truck bedy full of sawed-off cats.
where are the local scrap yards? i’m half tempeted to show up at one with my title in hand and take my fuckin 1/4 back. what can they do? nothing, the vin is on the there. thats only assuming its sitting in a pile. it would have only been taken there today as it was stolen sometime over last night.
is there still a yard under the glenwood bridge? i mean i’m sure the dumb ass took it right there, its not even 2 miles away.
scrap is $10.50 per hundred currently
i hate the scrap vultures
i kick everyone of them out since they piss me off.
at the old shop had a guy take a whole jeep body that was sitting outside one time.just set it out the night before since put a glass tub on it. but people are fucking nuts. luckily we caught the guy leaving so he didn’t make it too far. but was amazed that this low life got it on truck by himself.
They don’t give a shit… they are making $$ on that stolen property… and there is really no way for anyone to prove that they received stolen property so they look the other way because they can… I mean what are they suppose to do, check the VIN on a refrigerator they receive to make sure its not stolen… check the serial number on a toaster?
If you had the problem before, you talk about living in the ghetto, yet you didn’t expect people to steal your shit?
Did I read all that correctly because as far as I’m concerned…doesn’t surprise me at all, do you leave the keys of your car in the ignition at night expecting people to not steal your car?
A couple of my customers have said that people have been stealing copper from houses that are being flipped over in Brentwood/Baldwin/Whitehall area. Mostly houses that are not occupied, and have “for sale” signs in the front yard.
Some kids left some bikes out on the front yard on trash night. GONE.
This stuff was probably not near the trash, but once you put something out for the garbage, you relinquish all ownership, even if it is still sitting on your yard. I read about somebody that threw away an antique table of some kind. Somebody saw it and snagged it not even realizing that it was worth $470,000. When the people showed up on the news showing off their prized antique and a big check, the person that threw the table away was pissed and sued. They lost.
The best/worst one of all was somebody that lives on Mayfair over in USC got their copper gutters ripped off the house in the MIDDLE OF THE DAY, and while the people were home! A close second is the church in Homestead right across from the Verizon building on E 9th. All the copper downspouts got ripped off.
Fuckers…
:stupid:
I actually heard that once you put the trash out, ownership goes to the waste company. Anything taken from the garbage can result in prosecution from tose fella’s.
Sorry to here that. It would be nice to not have to worry about stuff getting stolen off of your own property.
Amen… but too bad thats not the case
