I have to say it but the new SHO’s are making huge power numbers with simple mods and are very comfy but do not drive nearly as well as the germans… at least the cops would not give you a second look.
after driving a S55 I was amazed with the power delivery. If the E55 is on par with that I would give that some serious though. If you are looking for a “fun” DD you can forget about anything all wheel drive. people can make arguemnts all they want about how usefull AWD is but at the end of the day sliding around your favorite corner sideways always puts a smile on your face. For that reason I think the BMW is a great choice, as well as a C63, E55, or even S55 (only because they are cheap) Would a non turbo 911 be something you could consider? I drove a vette, Z4M and a 911 back to back and the 911 was outstanding to drive by a long shot. The Z4 was good but the lack of afforable aftermarket sucks. There is no arguement to be made against a vetter other than the 911 was better from a drivers car standpoint.
If you want fun as well as affordable it does not get any more that a BRZ. I was amazed how much I liked the one I road in at mid ohio. It is not a luxury car but it does look good.

Yeah I like this option lol
I understand, you’re racist against FWD. lol
From the list of cars I suggested I figured 4 doors was implied
Yea FWD is boring
I’m not arguing, just saying. I can powerside around my favorite corners if I like. It’s a bit more difficult with my car, but still do able. Especially with the DCCD set to open.
Audi S4 seems like a good compromise between the AWD daily driver capability of the STi/Evo and the refinement of the BMW. They’re hardly slow either. The 335 seems amazing as long as it’s under warranty the entire time you own it.
Maybe if he were looking for a Minivan that routinely gets its ass handed to it by the base model 3S (full season of autocross, demolished every Speed 3 we came across on raw and PAX).
Not going to get deep into this on here, but AutoX is 90% driver, 10% car. Also has a lot to do with driver experience. And OP is talking about a fun Daily Driver…not AutoX results lol
And from my experience driving a Speed3 on a daily basis (as well as autocrossing it) as well as a Mazda2, it is very apparent that the Speed3 is much more suited for road racing, where the Mazda2 is much better at AutoX, so I really feel your comparison or whatever you want to call it, is very unreliable. Just my .02,yes I am biased but I am also being very reasonable and intelligent here.
Either way, my Mazdaspeed3 “Minivan” puts a damn large grin on my ugly face every time I drive it.
The Speed3 isn’t boring, but I can see where it could be boring in the winter…hence why I wanted a 2WD truck to slide around in this winter.

LOL Im sorry!!! NOT trying to thread jack, but some people just make ridiculous comments that I cant let slide by.
Don’t apologize to me I hijack threads all the time
Everyone likes different cars for different reasons
What about a twin turbo G8? for about 24g? ehhhhhhhhh? lol
<3 Good luck with your search for a fun DD. Based off the list you have, whatever you end up getting you’ll have fun with it especially in the winter.
Gotta go do some FWD burnouts in the minivan. BRB!
I vote bump our budget and get a b8 s4, b6/b7 are nice but thirsty and my super fast. That yellow one that was on here was a killer deal.
What about a 4 door golf R? Used ones can be found in your budget I think. Pretty nice car, fun, Awd, a few bolt ons have been putting people over 300whp and tons of tq. A few people on here have them, maybe drive one of their modded ones.
IMO they are as fun as a Evo/sti for a dd but much nicer interior. On a track the Evo would probably come out ontop haha
The golf R’s are great fun. not much baller status though. possibly a nicely equiped A3. in a few years CLA45 will be a killer car i am sure of it but not at 60K
Golf R is sweet, I drove Becks and really liked it. I just can’t see Justin in a hatchback lol.
Also, idk if it has been mentioned, but I believe the rear seats in a Evo x do NOT fold down because the washer fluid bottle and battery are back there, which makes the truck space even less as well.
Personally that would be enough to eliminate it from DD choices
Well being you’ll be driving this in Buffalo and it’ll be destroyed in about 2 years I’d get something stupid, cheap and fun to drive.
Crown Victoria
G8
Trailblazer ss
Could prolly grab this Volvo for 10K
Crown Victoria
G8 :tif:
Trailblazer ss - They were cool but the prices shot back up and the gas mileage is horrible
