The KA was originally designed as a truck motor, thereby it was built with a whole bunch of reliability in mind. Who hasn’t seen the clip where the guys run it right up until valve float and then start shoveling gravel into the intake? If it works as a rock crusher, that’s pretty fair indication it’s a durable piece of work.
SRs are an aluminum performance motor. Of course they require more maintenance, it’s a given. Speed costs. They each have their place and they have their own merits.
Fast, cheap, reliable. Pick 2.

yeah the gas prices suck for sure. I miss my car now… I drive a 94 sierra with a 305 V8 i can get 600KM if i drive all highway but it costs me like 120-130 for that tank lol
