alright, well about two weeks ago i found out my gas meter does not read the correct amt. of gas i have in my gas tank. i filled up full, and now today i have around 300km on the car, but still at full. sometimes it will be at full, then just drop down to the 1/2 way mark. i know my primary o2 sensor is gone, but would that have an effect on the readings? what else would have an effect on the readings other than the gas sensor itself? thanks.
well right now it went down to 3/4 of a tank or a bit less, so im pretty sure its not my gauge. how do you replace this float in my fuel tank? is that the only sensor that senses how much fuel is in the tank?
it should be, u take ur sending unit out of ur tank, sometimes it could be a spring thats broken, or fallen off. Ive seen it many times, as i work at a gas and rad shop…but sometimes u cant replace it and u just need to replace the whole unit…im unsure of an s13
Use the tripometer, if you don’t already. And like said above it is something broken in the tank. Unless you have ever taken the cluster apart, may have been messed up then if you have.
It may be the float. It’s a pot/rheostat that changes resistance as the float moves up and down. I believe the FSM will give the appropriate resistance for different fuel levels. You could pull the sending unit and check to make sure the resistance is changing according to what the FSM lists.
Just asking another question here. Lets just say, supposedly, I was changing my fuel pump, and everything went good pump works fine and all. But let’s say theoretically, that float fell off fell into the tank and can not be found. Any ideas on what else to use as a float
