gas plan.

ok i know this seems like spam but it can work! just refuse to buyy gas at 2 suppliers and watch it drop.

Today’s important issue? It could become one…

Gas prices :

It is rumoured that we are going to hit close to a $1.42 a Litre by the
summer.
Want gasoline prices to come down?
We need to take some intelligent, united action.
Phillip Hollsworth, offered this good idea: This makes MUCH MORE
SENSE than the don’t buy gas on a certain day campaign that was going
around last April or May!
The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn’t
continue to hurt ourselves by refusing to buy gas.
It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them.
BUT, this is a plan that can really work.
Please read it and join with us!
We all know that we’re being controlled by the oil companies.
Does everyone remember how they drove up the prices way past a
dollar and got the gas prices to where they wanted them, claiming
there was a shortage of oil?
Well, there isn’t any shortage now, and the oil is more abundant than
it was 35 years ago when the price of a litre of gas was 29 cents!!!
Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us
to think that the cost of a litre of gas is CHEAP at $0.78-$0.85, we
need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control
the marketplace…not sellers.
With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers
need to take action.
The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if
we hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas!
And we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.
How? Since we all rely on our cars, we cant just stop buying gas.
But we CAN have an impact on gas prices if we all act together to
force a price war.
Here’s the idea: For the rest of this year, DON’T purchase ANY
gasoline from the two biggest companies (which now are one),
PETRO CANADA and SHELL.
If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce
their prices.
If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to
follow suit.
But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of
PETRO CANADA and SHELL buyers.
Its really simple to do!! Now, don’t whimp out on me at this
point…keep reading and I`ll explain how simple it is to reach
millions of people!!
I am sending this note to at least thirty people.
If each of you send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300) … and
those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000)…and
so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of
people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers!
If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends
each, then 30 million people will have been contacted!
If it goes one level further, you guessed it… THREE HUNDRED
MILLION PEOPLE!!!
Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people. That’s all.
How long would all that take?
If each of us sends this email out to ten more people within one
day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be
contacted within the next 8 days!!!
Ill bet you I didn’t think you and I had that much potential, did you!
Acting together we can make a difference.
If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on.
PLEASE HOLD OUT UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO
THE $0.64 OR LESS RANGE AND KEEP THEM DOWN.
THIS CAN REALLY WORK!!!

now honestly i got this off the gtrc forums and it has a good idea. not hard. just pass it on. if you think its stupid dont follow it, but there are already ppl doing this and damn i just hope it works cause gas is rediculous

That makes only half sense. Boycotting Petro Canada will do nothing, since the price of crude on the world market is still high, and (say it with me) to the rest of the world, Canada DOESN’T MATTER!
So boycotting Petro Canada will do diddly squat, boycotting Shell however, makes sense, since they’re a huge player in the world market and can actually make a difference.

didnt someone already post this lat year??

Alright I would definately like to see how you can justify this statement? I may stand corrected but out of all of that jargon shouldn’t it be the other way around considering your suggested size.

Cheers

Bryce

here’s a thought to go along with this…canada produces enough oil to sustain ourselves…we don’t NEED to buy from the world market…anybody know why we actualy have to???

just a thought…wondering if you kids know the reason.

From what I’ve heard/read over the years it’s all business. We are part of the global market and for whatever reason, a large percentage of our oil production is committed to foreign markets, mostl notably the USA :dark: .

What I meant is that Shell can actually affect the prices of global crude.

But I made that post without thinking, the entire thing is actually doomed to failure.

Because the Americans own the vast majority of oil producers in the West :?

In geography class I was taught that Canada has enough resources to make us one of the richest countries, But we hold out on the mining, and oil extracting so that later on in the future when other countries resources are runing low. We will be able to sell it for more.

Not saying this is why, Just what I was taught.

On another note, I refuse to buy gas from the big companies. I prefere supporting family owned gas stations. Difference or not.

-Ofcourse if its 2 in the morning then you have to settle for the esso, petro, shell. :?

looks like i have to go to crappy tire and buy that thing to put gas in easier…

the one that connects to the red cherry bottles with the handle and start connecting it to peoples car’s lol

true that.

We don’t extract our oil due to the fact of where it is… it would destroy parts of Canada that make it the beautiful country that it is… It is also very expensive to extract it from where it is… I’m glad we do not have oil wells in Canada… looks like poo

and I go to Shell for the airmiles…

Sunoco delivers the juice

Because of the TTC strike, I heard that gas prices will hit above $1 by this weekend.

f the unions, f the strikers. Just do like I did and buy a no name cheapo mountain bike and ride that beast around. Its got mad boost!

Huh? We have lots… in fact we export more oil to the USA than any other country.

Actually CAnada does have wells all over the place , they’re just not in your backyard.
Have you heard of the oil sands in alberta? How about the Oil mining northern ontario?
Canada actually produces more than enough oil to sustain ourselves, we pump out the same volume as many of the opec countries.

But unfortunately our government pre-sold all of our oil to the Americans back in the early 90’s at sub 80’s prices for the next thirty years at a locked in rate which was somewhere near $18U.S.a barrel, now unfortunately 30 years is not done.

We are getting screwed by our own government, the reason they charge so much for gas is because they can, and u cant do nothing about it , just like they couldnt do anything about it in 1989 and in 1972 and farther back when oil prices skyrocketed and stayed.

Waht Canada need to do is remove all gun laws , allow us to buy automatic assult rifles , wait five years give every man woman and child a gun, and tell the americans where to go.

We need to rebel, rage against the machine, we as a people need to stop being so passive while we are being given the short end of the stick.

This is a democracy,we should have a say, we live in a false free enterprise where everything is regulated fairly except for those commodites from which our politicains will recieve large kick-backs by allowing petroleum companys to set ridiculous prices on one of our most needed and precious resources.

Please dont get me started on bottled water or the prices of soft wood lumber and metals. Tell china to go mine their own steel.

He knows how it is haha.

  • I hope that was a joke, Because the last thing this world need’s Is another America.

  • But yea ultra 94 from sunoco is the only way I go for the 240sx. Other then that Sunoco reg for vans and other rides. Either way, Its sunoco.

-About the how Canada presold our oil to the states, Thats true also. I seem to think canada likes being taken advantage of.

You need to understand that during the oil boom, Canada had nowhere near the resources needed to fully take advantage of our reserves. The Americans came in, and they built and still own most of the hardware used to extract our oil. I am sure it was all part of the deal.

Without their investment, there would be far fewer jobs, and the west would not be as rich as it is.
