If you are pulling in UAW money and you are too retarded to save for retirement you should be shot because you are wasting oxygen.

There is a statement I can fully agree with.I get in arguements everytime there is a layoff or something similar. These people out there get all like"omg, what will I do" etc. and my comment is Where is the MINIMUM 300K you have made, TAKE HOME in the last 8 yrs?8 yrs is the lowest seniority out there now fyi. When I started at GM I had a 90 probe that I paid 1,500 for and wifey had a 90 Cavy wagon that we paid 500 for.
No one died in my family and I didn’t win the lottery. Many foolish people out there that do not deserve that job.
D
you would think that way, and that would be a good start.
all america can really offer is lead time.
if your parts are made 30 locally, with near immediate deliveries, we can deliver products as needed.
Its not the same china it was when we were kids and they
just offshored manufacturing. china is the 1st to offer technologicaly advanced products at 3rd world prices.
i would love to see my place use the approach of design, develope, and prove the mproduct, then offshore it.
but, how to you fight greedy corporations stretching for every cent to be saved. at the end of the day, your competitors will exploit the opportunity to undercut you.

Yeah. Your kid(s?) aren’t going to grow up in THE dominant world economic superpower that we have. They can still be successful, it’s not like there’s only so much success to go around, but it’s going to be a different world.
So did the union lose? The retiree health care was put on the union.
I just saw a number that stated the cost per hour was $73 per hour per union employee vs. $.20 per hour in China.
The next few years should be interesting.

thats insane on both accounts…
but honestly if .20 is a liveable wage in china then kudos
i know so many people who “work” for GM that sweep the damn floors and clean the damn bathrooms make more money than i do. I have 2 college degrees, run a dealership and work 60-65 hours a week these assholes sit on their butts all day making $50 an hour!!!
The only people who deserve those wages and benefits are the employees who EARN it!!! If they don’t go into work to support the company they should be fired. if they spent more time supporting the company and not worrying about themselves they wouldn’t have to worry about keeping their jobs.
I don’t work for GM, should have said that before.

Assholes, huh? I think when the lazy assholes finally get off their butts and are ready to buy the next set of wheels, they probably won’t be doing it at Basil. The UAW workers are a big part of your business and I don’t think your attitude towards them merits these people buying cars from your dealership. Just my opinion, since you so eloquently stated yours. By the way, I am one of the assholes and I have bought tons of cars from the Basils. That just changed.

Does it really matter? I mean, at this rate… GM’s end is certainly near unless they get rid of the unions. I know union guys don’t like to hear it, but it’s the truth.
your union officials are only hurting yours and the companies future, for a few more dollars today. I can’t see the logic in that

I don’t know if it will be the end of the union or just their power/leverage.
It is hard to imagine no UAW.
It will be interesting none the less.

Honestly I couldn’t agree more and all my new GM vehicle will be from a Basil dealership now that I know Dave.
Nah, didn’t hit any nerve with me. I really don’t give a crap what people think about the UAW or GM workers. I take the paycheck home every week with a smile on my face. I just felt it odd that TORQDSS would want to demean the people that buy vehicles from him and his family. You can care what you want about GM quality, etc., but don’t attack the people that buy the product and are responsible in part for the success of the business. When you come right down to it, I want the best to provide for my family just like TORQDSS wants the best for his dealerships and employees.
I agree, but our students need to stop getting their asses handed to them by their foreign counterparts in science, math, engineering in order to implement it

Word. Also the lazy america that wants the easy way all the time without doing any work wont go for this. I just cant see the masses going in this type of direction although it is what i would like to see as well. As far as the UAW hooplah umm IDK good for the guys that have the jobs i guess im not going to hate but they themselves are ruining themselves which is quite ironic.
