Good collision shop in Am/Ton area?

Cosmetic only by the looks of it. Tail light’s shattered, bumper, 1/4 panel, and trunk lid damage. My fiance’s Protege. Where to take it? Price doesn’t matter, the other guy’s insurance will cover it.

take it to Northtown Coll. behind the scobby dealer … ask for mike … tell him i sent ya

NOT Carruba.

Why not carruba?

Because they are horrid.

Northtown would be a better bet.

Kenmore Collision on Elmwood…had my entire front bumper repainted there on my old car…came out AMAZING!!

My truck was back 3 times before I was happy with it.

Oh, and they left the battery connected the entire time, with rear door off, so when I went to pick it up the battery didn’t have enough juice to turn it over. They tried to tell me they always disconnect the battery, but mysteriously my radio station presets were all still there.

I’ve heard good things about Schmitts. My friend had his TSX fixed there and it came out perfect.

So I’ve got 2 votes against Carruba.

2 Votes for Northtown.

1 for Schmitts.

1 for Kenmore Collision.

Anyone else have input? Thanks guys.

I’ve always had a great experience with Schmitt’s, whether it be the actual repair, underbody coating, or followup and postrepair touchups (almost always for free).

Schmitt’s is also significantly cheaper than Northtown, but money is not of concern here.

i have not had any problems withe the place on englwod near kenmore ave…

pay cash, and save $$

carrubba did mine just last month, looks brand new.

Most places will make minor to significant damage look “brand new.” The problem is what the car will look like after a year or two, a winter or two, etc.

I think I’ll go with Northtown. Been interested to know how that dealership is to work with anyhow since my fiance still has a year left on her warranty and Towne Mazda’s service manager is teh suxorz.

I talked him and a rep from Mazda Northeast around in circles

A. Worn out brakes are not covered by warranty.
B. They’re not worn out. They’re seized. The mechanism failed. They’re covered.
A. They seized because of salt. You should have washed them regularly.
B. The owner’s manual says nothing about regular brake washing. Neglected maintenance has to be covered in the owner’s manual to void the warranty.
A. There’s an “external influences” clause in the owner’s manual. Salt is an external influence.
B. There’s salt on the roads in Buffalo. Since you’re saying Mazda’s can be driven in salt, what car would you recommend for Buffalo?
A. Mazda’s CAN be driven in the winter in Buffalo.
B. So you admit that we did everything properly but the brakes failed, so they’re covered?
Repeat.

:biglaugh: They didn’t see the humor… I hope Northtown doesn’t suck as bad…

Forgot to mention that some guy that I don’t know from the intarweb sent me, but a big dude named Mike did the estimate. Seemed like a good guy.

how many miles on the car when they were found seized?
do you have regular maint. done?
what seized? the calipers or the sliders?

Thats a him

stay away from Carrubba on Elmwood. god, what a nightmare they are to deal with! i just found out they painted my bumper the wrong color the other day too. HUGE  to them

Bump for the woman’s Protege taking a beating.
