So I had been calling around to find tires for my Trans Am. I couldn’t find anything in the size I wanted and I called Goodyear to see if they had them. Well the guy I talked to sucked at life and told me that a 225 was the widest they could get. So I was like fuck it, I’ll settle and get these. I ended up with 4 225/60/15 BFG Traction T/As for $417. A few days later I went to Pep Boys to pick up the brake calipers I had ordered and saw they had tires in the size I wanted for a much better price ( 4 Futura GLS Super Sports 2 in 275/60/15 and 2 in 225/60/25). So I called Goodyear and told them I am brining the tires back for my money back, which I had purchased like 4 days ago and still have the stickers on the tread and have not been touched. So of course they say that it is a “special order” tire and they can not do a refund of my money, but they can take them back and give me store credit :bloated:. Then the guy says that they could get some other tires in the 275 but it will cost me more and was ranting about how I did not specify my size or some bullshit, which really pissed me off because I had to spend 30 mins on the phone with them in the first place explaining what I wanted because they are retarded. So here is my dilemma…do I bite the bullet and run the 225s or take further action and continue to attempt to get my $ back. BTW, the 4 Futuras will cost me $309 for all 4 tires, So I am saving over $100. What pisses me off is that the tard that took the order forgot what I wanted so he ordered 8 tires (a set of 4 Traction T/As and a set of 4 Radial T/As, so he had to send one set back?..yet will not take back the ones he sold me. Also, they get their tires from Rochester, and the store is in Batavia…so its not like it took them a week. The tires were there like 2 hrs after I ordered them because they have supply trucks running back and forth constantly. This is soooo fucking frustrating
Walk in to shop and say these are the sizes I want, not what do you have that will fit my car?
All they typically do at that point is look at what the car came with factory. If you want bigger you should have specified.

Thats just it. I DID specify what I was looking for and hey said that was the best they could do yada yada…then when i told them I want my money back they suddenly have the size in something else but now it will cost more.
Well if you told them what you wanted and they didnt have it…why did you buy?
Thats like I went to the store to buy a digital camera and they didnt have the one I wanted in stock so I bought this 35mm and its the stores fault.
You bought it…you paid for it…you made a decision.
It sucks but atleast you got a decent tire. And unless you are planning on a ton of drag racing or road course type events those tires are fine to rock around town.
If I am correct your car is pretty stock and doesnt make a bunch of power so you really dont need more rolling mass.
Oh I know I am at fault here, I am not saying I’m not…I was mis informed in my decision though. I had ben told that there were no options in that I was looking for so I had to settle…then when I found the option I wanted and wanted to return what I had gotten, they said no dice…I’m just agrevated that they say they dont have something one day, then say they can upgrade it the next. the 225 should be ok…I just dont want any issues if I am playing around. those cars stock have like 200 hp and around 250 or so torque, and are fairly light in the rear end, which is why I wanted something wider.
Tirerack could’ve saved you some cash, certain dunlop tires have a $50 MIR when you get a set of 4.
The wider/taller tire really isnt going to make that much of a difference, unless you’re talking about a sticky set of tires like slicks or drag radials. They’d also take a little bit of your gear away.
Now how exactly do you plan on getting any if you don’t lay down rubber. Especially in that car.

Hey if I can get laid when I’ve been driving a pos bomber 91 toyota corrola I don’t think it’s a problem lol. I’ll probably end up just rinning the BFGs and learn my lesson and go to tire rack or something next time.
buy your stuff online and let the assholes wonder why they went out of business

:word: I ordered my ecsta’s from tirerack, had KenTon Imports mount em up while I was at work, and ended up paying the same as what my “local tire shop” quoted me for some other shitty tire.
