Crazy. Glad you seem to be ok. It’s always good to wear gear, I try to be good but when it’s 90, fuk it’s hard to want to.
I’ll be on the look out as well.

Here’s a link to a set of images on Flikr. (sorry my finger’s in the way on some, my wrist hurts a bit). And I’d rather not put all of them on here. Here’s a few though.
It slid to a stop on the left side.
The car hit my right side, this is the fairing…
and this it the bulk of the hit, on the wheel. I’ve never seen a wheel crack like that.
Looking at that side, with the wheel like that, the rear-sets cracked clean off, and the scratches on the fairing, I still have no idea how I didn’t loose my leg.
And here’s just my helmet,
My jacket and jeans are in the pictures, the jacket burned through the elbow, but didn’t ruin the armor. and my jeans are fine, hell, I’m still going to wear them. The boots are all good too. My summer gloves are pretty messed up, I left them at the scene though, I may try and recover them tomorrow.
And here’s the bike I’ll never get to ride again…
Def was a nice one!

Bikes are replaceable.
:word:
Looks like that wheel somehow took the brunt of the hit. You’re a very lucky guy.
:bloated: Majority of deaths are from fucking up. You might want to get your head on straight. It sounds like you’re aimed squarely at an early grave.
Newman, I see your point. It’s all personal tolerance for risk. Well, more specifically risk:reward. For me riding at night was always absurd. The risk goes way up (visibility + drunk drivers) and the reward goes way down (can’t really ride hard when you can’t see through a curve.)
Early grave?? Nope sorry my friend. I’m not gonna sit here and go back in forth about your beliefs either. Shit happens on a bike. Gear saves lives. As long as a Cager doesn’t run you the fuck over or you hit an object. You’ll live. But you need gear.
Your rim looks fucked. Did the ins total the bike? Your helmet saved your life. I see what your saying about losing your leg. Did your leg get hit? Got pics of that?
If you were on a cruiser with that half shell you wouldn’t be here.
Again glad your alive.:pedo1:
Lmao
You said you werent going to go back and forth and then you took your turn making a point.
Half the time it seems like street bikes deaths are a result of someone hitting something due to rider error, or getting ran over, so basically youre saying gear will save you unless its the most common cause of riding deaths, then gear wont save you?
You are lucky for sure. My accident was under 30mph and I was bumped from behind and thrown over the bars into oncoming traffic on Central Ave in Lancaster. I had a full face helmet, jacket, gloves, jeans and boots on, helmet visor cracked, palms of gloves tore open, pants ripped up and the front of the jacket had some bad road rash but didnt wear all the way through to my shirt. Bike had minimal damage, a broken peg and mirror and bent the handle bar. I broke my wrist and was unable to bend my leg for 6 weeks had a full leg brace and crutches. My mothers last boyfriend died in 2007 on the 198 in a still unexplained accident.
That poor bike… glad you survived???
I’m not sure if they will total the bike or not, they still have to come out and look at it. My estimates say they will. It’s an 07, worth about 5 grand.
And no, my leg was not hit somehow. I think that when the car hit me, I instantly got a type of whiplash were the bike went forwards and my body leaned back so my legs were up in the air by the time the car cracked off where my foot was. I slid to a stop on my back feet forwards.

I was always a proponent of that too. Every accident I see on youtube, it seems like there ALWAYS something that the rider could’ve done differently. Of course not in my case. I mean, I guess I could’ve looked in my mirror longer to make sure he changed lanes… but this guy was in my lane going twice my speed. Anything I did may have made the situation worse for all I know.
sweet bike though, its a shame. +1 on wearing all the gear, could’ve been a lot worse. I’ll keep my eyes open
That bike is totalled lol.
So I am sure I know the silver car with bright blue headlights. There is a First gen Silver WRX with super bright blue HID headlights that is always on the 90 between 9-11pm trying to race people, swerving in and out of traffic. He is a younger white kid that has a stuffed animal hanging from his tow hook in the back. If thats not you and you didnt hit the rider but your on here, you drive like a fucking retard
well next time you see him, check to see if there are any new scratches.
I work in that area, I will keep on the lookout, see if I can get his plate
I drive the 90 twice a day, Ive been eye balling every silver car i see.
I feel like some nyspeed justice is coming…soon
Fuck calling the police. Since you are probably not in a condition to administer anything medieval, I’d suggest having some friends do it for you if he is found.
I really hope so.
