A Few? Really? Try doing some fucking research. Seeing as how you’ve never done ANY events similar to this you don’t have a fucking clue what you’re talking about in terms of knowing how others drive at high speeds for extended periods and how to deal with the public in said situations. Your regular fool in a buick causes more issues (and potential) trying to catch ralliers than the participants do. We had a guy flip over his RV and truck trying to take photos of us and drive at the same time a few years ago, sent a couple people to the hospital and blocked up a major interstate in Iowa.

Willy, if she’s got the $100k to drop on entry, you should definitely make close friends with her. Perhaps children too.

The trick is to do this shit on an international driver’s license and take it easy in your home “area”. NY for example does not accept tickets from anywhere else (unless it’s Quebec or Ontario or a DWI or you killed someone). So when I used to do rallies I didn’t give a shit. 5 tickets in one stop in Montana yielded a $278 fine on the spot after aparently being “chased” for 5 out of 7 counties, paid it, moved on. The people doing Gumball don’t give a shit, chances are they’ll never come back, so they just pay a local lawyer (usually as a group) to go handle the tickets for that area. Most get plea deals and pay a minimal fine. The occasional one will get a couple days in jail, but usually it’s just a haul you in, give your keys to your codriver and make them bail you out. The counties know they can make a quick dime off this but really going after someone isn’t worth the court’s time.

My level of car nuttiness must be slipping because I can’t fathom wanting to sit on the side of a highway just to watch a bunch of stickered up exotics cruise by.

Be in a rally, sure, if I had the money I’d be in for sure because it looks like a blast. But sit at a rest stop to watch a rally go by… I can’t think of anything more lame automotive wise honestly.

Yea walker, that is the same car. It was awesome, melted bumper from exhaust and he was ripping down the 90. He was wearing an 034 motorsport shirt as well, saw him at a gas station.
