i installed mine, and i was expecting the pedal to feel firmer than the stock clutch, but instead its way softer? is this how its supposed to be?
Air in the system???
try a vacume bleeder that might work!
spec stage 3 sux
ohh i know
Bleed the line.
damn it, i went to school for 2 years for this shit! i bleed the damn line, i bleed the line and got all the air out long before i ever touched the pedal…, but the pedal does not feel “Spongy”, that would be air in the line, is just easy to push in… i was expecting the diaphram to have more resistance than the stock diaphram… and why does spec stage 3 suck? did you have lots of problems with yours?
my spec stage 2 sucks…but its still a noticebly stiffer pedal.
never felt a stage 3 but if mine stiffer…your should be too.
i have about 250 kms on clutch now, and it feels like shit. i havent givener too hard yet, but it just feels soft, like chirping the tires into second isnt going to happen. if this is the case, im going to be pissed, and try and get my money back
So how did you bleed it without touching the pedal??
I’m installing a stage 3 pretty soon, read both good and bad about it, but it seems a lot of people on all sorts of 240sx/silvia forums swear by them and have had no problems.
Guess it’s luck of the draw?
Hmmm
I love my RPS clutch that Marvin got for me. Also better feel than Jamie’s Spec 3. and good for simmilar power. the only down side is a heavy pedal. Good easy to find friction point but it hold power fine.
jason shut up you know what i ment… i now have some mean clutch chatter every time i shift… the clutch disc is a 6 puck, so i dont know if this is a normal quality for a design like that
Have you been breaking it in nicely? Did you have your flywheel macined? How many km’s have you put on it??
HAHAHA.
Hey Evan where is the give in your pedal, top or bottom? You have to adjust your pedal a TON with SPEC clutches! If the give is at the bottom you wont be disengaging the clutch properly making the peddle feeling mushy and if the peddle is too tight the release barring will be pushed up along the diagram and that will make weird noises when you shift and also wear out the barring and possibly the clutch disc. On my SPEC stage 2 clutch I had to adjust the pedal all the way out. To adjust the pedal there is a rod that comes out of your Master CYL and it’s threaded into your pedal bracket and has a 12mm nut on it. Crack the nut and you could be able to squeeze your hand up there and just barely turn the rod. I adjust my pedal so that when I push on the pedal I have pretty much no give until the pedal is disengaging the clutch. You will be able to tell. Its not rocket science. Hope that helps, if it doesn’t I have no clue???
