Thinking bout going to UTI this year for school… has anyone on here gone there?
Yup, I went to the one in Phoenixville. I hated it. I went for about 6 months and finally couldn’t stand it anymore and withdrew from the program. Save your money and go take HVCC’s automotive program. Atleast there you will graduate with a degree.
my friend went there and says the same
Is UTI even accredited? Only go somewhere where your credits will be recognized by other schools.
Urinary Tract Infections SUCK. I had one and it hurt to pee.
Did LOL.
fuck that place mcfluffy its like a really nice boces campus, if ya have any car knowledge dont go like said before hvcc is better of a course
Fuck HVCC. All they have you do is bullshit bookwork and not nearly enough hands on shit. Some of the teachers are complete morons and fuck off just as bad as the students. I feel like I learned and did more shit in high school Votec.
I went there and got a degree in mechanical repair and autobody. The first year of both is the same.
At the end of the day it matters what you have on paper and a degree definitely helps. Don’t waste $20,000 on UTI and come out with a certificate of completion when you can do the HVCC program for under $5,000 and come out with an associates degree.
A degree that doesnt even say anything about automotive shit. Mine says applied sciences or something like that.
Really I wish I didnt go to college.
I did the HVCC ATS Program. you learn ALOT.
What do you wanna do steve? Mechanics or Body work?
ATS Program is perfect for general automotive. not car specific.
like i said, you learn ALOT and you get ALOT of hands on experience
I did the same program.
Maybe they changed it but I went from '99-'02 and it seemed like we didnt do anywhere near as much hands on shit as we should have. Too much notetaking about how shit works that we never need to know and not enough diagnosis and how to fix shit. I think they shouldve spent more time teaching us how to find whats wrong instead of teaching us the inner workings of an alternator that were never going to rebuild ourselves.
The diagnosis class we had didnt even have a lab if I remember right.
We had bullshit classes and teachers. There were a few good teachers but some of them didnt really teach anything.
A few guys I went there with say the same things about the program.
Ive heard the GM program is ok though. A few guys I know went thru that and work at dealerships.
Do hvcc. My brother took the gm program and got into the dealership where he worked for a few years. He now works at the NYS Thruway. Anyone who says fuck hvcc is a fucking tool!
It’s all what you make of it and how you apply yourself in the real world. I did absolutely nothing with the degree but I’m glad I went and studied something I enjoyed at the time.
Most of the guys I went there with are no longer working on cars. Some did it for a few years and then moved onto something else and others never really did it at all.
I worked in a tranny shop for a summer and then at a body/mechanical shop for a few years and really just got burned out on it.
I wish I had the money I wasted on college back. Id have alot nicer car or something for the money.
One of the most retarded posts I’ve ever seen.
Maybe someone will leave it in the bed of your truck?
I gave my girl a UTI once. A2M ftmfw
Gotta chime in and mention that my buddy went there at the norwood mass. campus and he loved it, got a lot out of it, had some kickass teachers there and works for penske as a diesel tech, learning a helluva lot more about the big shit than he ever thought he would.
How would ass to mouth give someone a UTI?
