As far as I’m concerned HVCC is a great technical school. I’m happy that I went there. The company I work for now will pay 100% for further education.
Are you fucking nuts?
Anyhow, determining a school really depends on MANY factors. In regards to just FINDING a job or INCREASING salary based on WHERE you go, it depends on things. Here’s a good example, my education was $35K a year whereas my GF’s ranged from $38-$55K. Her career is VERY dependent on the quality of education which determines salary/advancement whereas mine is: “Hey, you got a degree? Great.”
Just paying for the name in my opinion,I like HVCC.I plan on finishing my bio degree then transferring to Colb.
how the hell do you know? Have you taken classes at other schools?
Exactly. For the record, I have and I have TA’ed at a private and public state school. There is a difference. I guess it depends on if it matters to you. Plenty of smart people came out of SUNY Schools but to say you are paying for the name and HVCC is a great technical school is a joke.
I went around to many schools to see what they offered in Biology . Thought they were good programs but a bit high when you can go to HVCC and get pretty close to there quality .The labs are exactly the same at HVCC with other schools you just don’t pay those huge lab fees :cool
I find that very hard to believe.
Agree to disagree
For biology HVCC has a lot to offer and I know other people could back up that program to.
Probably people at HVCC. No one said they didn’t have a lot to offer but to make them equiv to other programs as you indicated, is not fair.
I got plenty of friends in medical school and in professional world that would agree. Not a freshman at HVCC.
There IS a difference between two years at Cornell vs two years at HVCC.
I too might have to do a supra “moto” swap into my thunderbird
you saw what they offered and determined that it’s about equal quality? Talk about judging a book by it’s cover.
I’m not saying it’s a bad program, but it does not compare to most private schools.
Not just hvcc people have said they liked the programs… Call it unfair, but to me its the truth .
liking it and labeling it equal in quality are completely different. pick an argument.
we cannot argue whether people like something over another, but we can if we were to talk about quality.
Interesting that we are on the same page about this.
It’s interesting to see what type of elitist pricks you guys are. :banana
I’ve taken technical classes at RIT and UAlbany, there is definitely a difference. The overall curriculum is the same for the most part though. The whole environment is just different.
Do you go to HVCC? :confused
:highjack2
I’m 36 years old dumbass
Ok- no need to forum split, find something better to do.
