i was driving my car around the block and all of a sudden my headlights went out…i checked all my fuses and bulbs…there all good…any ideas what could have went wrong…92 coupe
have you changed them recently? either they both went out or you have some bad wires somewhere… and when you said “i checked the fuses”… did you ohm them out… like remove them and check them? maybe do a voltage drop accross the fuse…? or did you just look at them without removing them?
I changed the front headlight bulbs earlier and only my passenger headlight is working…my driver side headlight and my park lights in the back arent working now…every time i change my fuse for the tail lamps they blow right away…i have no idea what to do…
if you change the fuse and they blow right away and you havent added anyhting to the circuit, most likely the positive wire is exposed and touching bare metal somewhere
take a multimeter, remove the bulb, remove the fuse… take your multimeter and set it to ‘ohms’ and stick one lead to the positive side of the socket (DON"T TOUCH THE NEGATIVE AT ALLLL) then touch the other lead to the negative post of your battery… or a good conducting piece of metal that is attatched to the frame… if you get close to no resistance then you know you have a “short to ground”. im willing to bet that is what you have…unless you put the wrong bulb in the socket… i dunno it could be a lot of things… i remember my friends 89 coupe had some weird issues in the rear left tail lights and it was the type of bulb i think… i dunno it was a couple years ago.
