Hello via BlackBook

OMG a computer that goes to sleep and comes back without DYING in its sleep!

OMG Word and Excel are a lot better. The menus are actually logical.

Keynote looks a lot more professional than the crap called powerpoint. And I can use the remote that comes with the computer to switch slides.

yay.

Your fishtank looks like it’s full of jelly-beans. :open_mouth:

yup Keynote fucking ROCKS compared to Powerpoint. Windows needs to invest some $$ into making their apps less shitty.

Microsoft needs to be less shitty overall.

This thing is super quick.

hahah

HAVE FUN ON TWO FINGER SCROLLING!!!

asshole

it can run photoshop really well :stuck_out_tongue:

Vista > XP > Win98 > Windows 3.1 > DOS > OS/2 > Mac OS.

Actually, it doesn’t. It runs on Rosetta and takes 15 years to load and then isn’t very stable. I’m sure it will be swell when Adobe makes a version that runs native on intel based macs.

I really like this computer. Very very very happy with it so far. The battery life is terrific (4.5 hours). Front row is sweet. The remote is great. Pages is a lot like Wordperfect, which was a better word processor than Word can imagine to be.

 I’m glad I didn’t listen to anybody that told me that I don’t want a mac.

Hi, Joe, I’m using a notebook.

Ok the scoll “pad” then…

How does that work?

I’ve hated Mac for a while. I’ve used them and I don’t care for the interface of the OS. However, I am seriously considering a MacBook Pro for my next laptop. I will obviously put XP or Vista (assuming it will run it which I think it will) on it immediately.

Or I can save a grand and buy another Dell laptop which has served me well for 3 years now.

If Roseanne were to have owned a computer, it would have been a Dell.

If Richard Simmons were to have owned a computer, it would have been a Mac.

Say what you will. You can’t argue with 3 years of superb funtionality.

I think he has 3

Richard Simmons would rock Roseanne’s fat rolls off.

But Roseanne may get him with her extreme ability to spit tampons.

I think it’s a draw.

If Rosie O’Donnel were to use a computer it would be a Leap Frog. Minus the leaping part. It would be a Hopping Frog. Well maybe not. Shimmy Frog.

Really, I can fault either OS. Nobody makes a perfect OS. I really don’t know why anybody would put XP on a mac. The real advantage to owning a Mac is that the hardware and software work very, very well together. With XP it’s always a guessing game, but of course there is a ton more flexibility.

I really haven’t found it difficult to switch between the two. I’ve done so for the past few days (I don’t have a printer for this computer yet). I don’t mind either. I mainly purchased a Mac for their exceptional support. I mainly didn’t buy a Dell for their lack of support. If this were a desktop I probably would not have chosen a Mac, but for a notebook that may have more problems over time I would prefer a company that has built a reputation on taking care of their customers.

There was a time when Dell support was terrific. This was about 4 or 5 years ago. I remember. And then it went downhill.

Pardon me for being out of the geek loop, but can you straight up install Windas on the new Intel based macs? I.E. just partition and load, no emulating or anything like that?

If so then I have now lost my hate for Apple. They have always had the best hardware. Weren’t they a year+ ahead with 64 bit processors, SATA, and PCIX? I just never used em because I don’t like making things difficult for myself. I’d be down with buying a Unix computer with cutting edge hardware that can run Winblows too.
