This might open a can of worms but… KAT or SR?
Im in the midst of selling my current car and if sold I would have about 8,000 to play with.

Im not aiming for some crazy… maybe around the high 12’s or flat 13’s.
300whp would be nice.

So that being said and with a budget of 8G;s how would you build?
Im not too familiar with either and rather new to the nissan world.
Help fill in the blanks
Chassis of choice would be S13/14
but before power more importantly… suspension and brakes.

If going with a SR20 what is the limits?
im not too fam of how much boost it will take before boom.
say… sr20… bigger turbo… fmic… ems = ???hp before boom and before internals.

Also maybe 300WHP is asking for too much… what about 300@crank.

take that $8000 find a decent enough S13 and throw in a 1JZ!

u can have it in a SR or a KA

id probably go with getting a rebuild on the KA and boosting it.

most of the SR’s now comming from japan have close to 200,000 kms.

Naww 1jz to real for him, tht would be a nice setup for him wit a nice single turbo… check this video out, it might let u consider the 1jz.

The 1JZ sounds siiiick… but who has done the swap here before?
price for swap? and how involved is it? must be lots of custom parts needed.

thats fucken retarded, if you have 8000$, do an ls1 swap you’ll have more than 300whp RELIABLE, gas milage friendly 6speed low down to high end power, and good weight distribution

LS1 or LS2 with good tires and launches should net you low 12s, high 11s stock… do it

how about a SR20DET from an S15 with 12 - 15 psi stock turbo. should get you 300WHP? thats my $0.02

That would be awesome… but its more then my 8G budget + I would need a decent shell… :frowning:
