Honestly with the high depreciation she could probably get a fully loaded 04 (Or hell even an 05 for just over 10k) just taurus for about 6-9k. Get’s around 25ish MPG with the duratec in the city.

Under two years and 12k kinda otherwise limits it to small 4-door economy cars. And even then most the the imports are base model with no/low features at that price.

Used Corolla.

Because they’re roomy, comfy, fairly quick, efficient, solid, reliable.

But most importantly–they are SAFE. Every other car listed…plz.

2004 Alero or Grand Am with the 2.2L Ecotec.
depreciation would set them to be around 8k right now
they came with either 2 or 4 doors
they are all FWD
it’s a 4-banger. It will be excellent on gas. (my 2.4 gets about 350 thruway miles per 12 gallons. not the best, but it’s still pretty good. the 2.2L Ecotec is a newer engine and should be better on gas than the older 2.4L)
