I’ve got a '91 180SX, and would love for someone knowledgeable about SR20DETs to help me out.
Long and short of it is I’m deciding whether or not to write of my redtop or to get a new one.
I think I might have rod knock, and if that’s the case I’m gonna get a blacktop.
However, my knocking only happens sometimes and seems to be coming from the turbo side or the upper end of my car, and my car dosen’t knock at idle. I’m new to Calgary and would really love a hand. Please help NECC guys! I’ve seen tons of nissans and NECC stickers while taking the bus this week.

To verify try unplugging an injector to see if it goes away. It should since there is no more load on that cylinder or rod it should stop the sound. Start with number one and keep going.
