hey bing ... good weld in 4 / 6 point cage for a pignose hatch?

i was thinking of just buying a basic weld in style cage for the 240 project and adding onto it from there, i want something that fits rather tight to the body w/o having to leave out interior parts

Thru dash is the only way to go on this one

finished product will have rocker bars, door bars, down bars front and rear, x brace in the roof, firewall bars, all that jaz, i just dont want to have to wrestle with the biggest bars in the bender at work

bump

4 and 6 pt cages dont go and where near the dash. sounds like you want a safety cage.

autopower has a 4 & 6pt bolt in cage.
s&w racecars has any kinda cage you can think of.

are you going hardcore drifting with this thing?

yo y does it gotta be bing? he isnt the only 240 guy on this site.

someone must be offended lol

if i had said 6 point bar, you would be right, but i said 6 point cage, which would in fact have bars down the A pillar

autopower is not an option here. i want something tahts actualy safe and actually goes THROUGH the dash, and it CAN NOT be bolt in

my plans for the car are everything BUT drift events

I don’t think they have a mail order kit but it doesn’t hurt to ask. At least it should give you some ideas.

yea, seen that cage, very nice stuff …

so what u guna use this car for? not drifting it i take it huh

Bing also doesn’t have a roll cage in his car.

lol shot down, not to mention what does having a pignose bumper have to do with roll cage fitment??? crash bar? :mamoru:

everything
but
drifting

bing knows a bit about 240’s though

sorry, s13 chassis, is that better ?

just busting your balls lol. I would make a template out of cardboard or something, go get the A pillar bars bent professionally and then buy a little bender for the smaller pieces and im assuming you can weld it in. look on zilivia, there are tons of build threads with cages, find one you like and copy the style.

ive got access to an electric / hydraulic bender at work, but its just a matter of having to drag it out / set it up / work some / put it all away during a 1/2 hour lunch, which is why i was considering just buying the big pieces and making the rest

and its not like i can just order up a 12pt cage for a s13 and slap it in, considering the number of changes the basic chassis is getting. hell, i dont even know if im keeping the floors in teh passanger compartment area stock
