High Temp Coating Headers

How much of a pain is it? I’ve only briefly read up on it, but I do know it involves baking them in the oven, etc. Is it a big pain? Is it worth it, or should I just go ahead and buy the ceramic coated ones?

I’d say get the Ceramic Coated ones. Ceramic Coated headers look good for a long time. Other coatings seem to peel and chrome only lasts so long.

I dont know if this helps you at all …
But on the 1979 Jeep CJ-5 that I have, when I did the headers & sidepipes, i went with Hedman Elite Headers. They have a non-polished thermal-coating withstands I believe it was 1300*. They also reccomended to coat them with Dei High Temp Silicone Coating, so thats what I did. They look great still.

Sorry if this dosn’t help you!

I don’t care if they look good. I just don’t want them coated in surface rust three months down the road.

not worth it imho

If you can get a set that passed through jet hot, i would… i have jet hot coated 1300F coated Pacesetter mild steel headers on the goat and they look new, 7 months and a full winter later.
