Honda Guys : Lets Talk

You cannot be serious. lol I’m taking my time because I like to do things right once. Getting quality parts at a decent price is the only thing holding me back. I’m not gonna get into this, but I hope this idea is set in stone.

nothing is set in stone ever, but T stated that if i get the bike i will act a fool and bust myself which is a valid point.

and i am just looking for the right path to go down, i don’t see the point in dumping my car when it is an awesome platform to build a car off of…

and by the way budsdubbin why is your phone off i tried calling you tonight to smoke some homegrown

what is your budget for everything and i will give my opinion/advice then

there really is no budget sir, it will be pieced together. obv the swap will bought as one piece, don’t want to spend to much. but after that a turbo setup i will piece together i have a real job and can afford to build it

just boost a b18b
just do 9lbs or 10lbs on stock map sensor so u dont have to get any funky shit
just get it tuned on crome because it’s free
dont rev it past 7500
DO make sure the motor is healthy before boosting it
DO do headstuds and a new headgasket and any other maitenence work that needs to be done

I HavE a whole bunch of shit that you could use

Holset H1C turbo
DSM 1G BOV
A Downpipe depending on what setup u run
full 3inch exhaust
a vacuum block
a manual boost controller

i have a whole bunch of shit

are you doing this to that silver EK hatch?

yes that vsm ek hatch, how do you know what car it is?

Holsets H1c is a great suggestion

educate me again. bb or journal? power levels?

journal, its similar to a the turbo I suggested. holsets are pretty basic but thats what makes them so legit. They are easy to rebuild/cheap and its arguable but holets commpressor wheel design is better for flow up top and more boost compared to garret 50 trims.

well where is biff to chime in, i am pretty sure he has a journal bearing.

But either way this car should be going to the west coast with me so lets rep east coast with some legit parts

something along this route. if you dont know how to tune or dont have any idea/ concept of what your doing when looking through logs and maps dont tune it yourself. x2 on the 7500 rev limit or say bye to your rod bolts.

d16y8 wasssaaaaaa

if money isnt an issue, and you insist on boost, then i would go with something similar to this build 2000 ITR Revival, Speed-Theory Built - Honda-Tech - Honda Forum Discussion

its not the most power, but that car is crazy quick, great for a daily, and its quiet

like i said b4 … what do you want that 300whp number for? with a d series turbo it will be pretty damn lazy spool and cost a decent amount of money to make it perform like a stock ls with a 57 trim on it, the stock ls with 57 trim would hit 300 but then youd have to worry about how long it will last since its stock motor, and then any decent 250whp na build would beat all those cars in 90% of the situations except top end highway pulls

lol he’s talking out of his ass. I’m pretty sure he’s not about to drop 5g’s on this build. He also has no intention of building the block.

Its not money is of no issue. But piecing toghether is a lot cheaper if you know what I mean. I will be able to afford better parts if I buy them one at a time.

And yes I really don’t want to build the block. Correct me if I’m wrong but b series can stand up to 300whp no problem providing the car has a good tune

And the n/a path I believe would cost me more than boosting it. And on an n/a car it has a lot to do with mathcing the right cam to the right breathing parts.

If I’m gonna build anything I will build the d series and use a small turbo pushing like 20 psi. That way lag is not an issue

i am almost in the same boat as you at this point only difference is im doing a 95 coupe. so i mine as well ask my question here cause it help us both. I want about same goals as sloa$$ek.

What would be a better/cheaper swap b16 or b18 for boost and the 300hp range?

What would be the avg price for one of these swaps not including boost parts just the swap it self?

o if info is needed on car its a 95 civic coupe d16z6 5 speed currently.

300hp b series isnt hard, ive seen quite a few last a long time, and ive seen some crack a block on the dyno… all properly tuned

300hp on a d series can be done for around 4-5k
(1,000 motor/assembly, 1,000 turbo, 1500 rest of kit, 500 exhaust, tuning etc)

300hp on a b can be done for around the same price
2,000-2,500 gsr swap 2,000 for used 57 trim ramhorn kit, 500 exh, 500 tuning etc)

250hp k24 can be done for around 4500-6000 ( i will actually have less than that because im doing what you say and buying piece by piece, getting deals along the way)

i should start a company helping people build a setup lol

:frowning: i should just do k and get it over with lol theres to many dam options for civics
