acid etch primer for those who do not know has a chemical in it thats very acidic and eats rust, it also has an addative to prevent rust from coming back, its a SUPER cool product and as long as there is metal there a couple coats would take care of it. its basically naval jelly mixed into a sprayable primer. works AWESOME
what do you plan to do about painting it? that metallic green probably isnt the easiest color to get away with painting just a small area…
huge vinyl will go over the primer, my quick fix so it looks decent

sand blasting or cutting out area where previous rust was and welding a patch in is the only way your gonna keep it gone… cause it may pop back through in a year or 2.
