how hard is it to convert Z32 rear caliper to an S14?

will it work if i only have 2 caliper and discs and lines…or do i need more parts in order to convert it?

Its not that hard to convert thers a write up on how to do it the only thing is the e-brake lines dont line up.

Yeah…you are screwed on the ebrake (we did one on an S13). Other than that it’s easy.

so only need 2 rear discs and 2 calipers and 1 E-brake line in order to do the conv?

umm… don’t you need to use a whole z32 spindle in order to get the the brakes/handbrake to work??

If so, you will also need to worry about your strut mount, because it’s different for z32 and s14, so unless you have jic flt-a2 with replaceable bottom piece, i dunno what your other options are…

Besides, converting to z32 rear if you don’t have some BIG brake upgrade on the front is really not smart, you’ll have to replace your master cylinder, and you’ll also through the whole braking off balance.

what are you running for brakes in the front?

i am still running with the stock calipers…i have a set of R33 clipers …i will do the Brake conv. while doing my SR swap in the late Feb. so i think i might wanna complete the rear Brake also…since there is a guy who wanna sell me brand new 300zx caliper for 400~450 …so i am considering buying it…~~

the master cylinder has the use Z32 one if i do a front brake swap?

I know plenty of people with z32 front swap only, they are runnign stock MC, and they are happier than ever. As for the rears IMHO, i think you should just upgrade the rear brake pads and get new rotors, stock brakes work just fine in the rear.

I agree, but there is a slight amount of free play in the pedal when using the stock MC. But i’m sure it’s nothing major. I will find out sometime this year.

The rears need no more than just better rotors and pads. Unless you are pushing some big numbers from under your hood.
