Iraq service FTW :bloated: Actually, my work was paying me a little bit while i was gone just cause theyre sweet like that. so on top of the tax free flow i was getting from the army, i now get back the taxes that i paid on the money that i got from my work while i was gone. I was surprised as hell i would get that much back, but im not about to complain

Pretty much. All the money i made while over there is tax free. I would get taxed on each pay period, but then at the end of the month i would get those taxes refunded to me. And while i was gone all the taxes i was hit with from my work paying, i pretty much got all of it back. (or most of it anyways) Pretty sweet deal. No complaints here.
-$350 I got owned 
I netted around $175 total… $27x back from the Fed and $9x owed to the state. Not bad considering the last few years I was claiming 1 and 1 and usually owed $200 to $300.
