How much did you pay for your car & how much did you put into it

I agree…but that’s why people like us aren’t buying new cars. New cars are the non-investment ones a majority of the time, only exceptions are exclusive cars. It’s pretty easy for ‘car people’ to find a vehicle, put some love into it, and turn around and sell it. I’d consider modding cars (for the most part) to be a non-investment decision when it comes to money…the return on investmest becomes your pride in what you built and the enjoyment you get from driving it.

Cars are not investments, they are disposable income. Atleast that’s what the club racer’s are always telling me. I tend to agree.

99% of the time you will lose money buying, modding and then selling a car…if you make money, the buyer is a moron

Audi was 21K back in 03
Mods. Used Forge DV $75
The rest of the car is stock…

Right. Including those rims and body kit right? :stuck_out_tongue:

Or the previous seller was, and let the car go way too cheaply. I could have done almost nothing to my car when I bought it but put it back up on Autotrader and easily gotten another $1000 for it.

Woops! Yeah, and the wheels. iforged Senekas set me back 3g’s and the front bumper is OEM RS4 that was about $1000 skirts where about $200 plus paint and the rear is about to go back to stock so that don’t count.

As for the motor it’s all stock and has never been touched. And it’s going to stay that way… Just want to look good if you know what I’m saying… All show and no go… :stuck_out_tongue:

the only way that you can get a car to appreciate is for it to be a classic. My mustang that I paid $1 for and three years of cutting grass would be worth $45,000 when fully restored back to its race days. I would need to put $10-15K into it to get it to that stage. so for $15,001 I could make $29,999, give or take, and that is going by volo apraials

you want more money out of the car than you put into it, get a classic with a history, you want to enjoy what you drive and enjoy the way your car rides get something you like and dump how much into it you feel like

I want to get more classics eventually. I’m going to keep putting money into my 69 Camaro because it’s an awesome car and they haven’t dropped in value. If I had the time and money (and room), I’d keep the 68 Firebird ragtop that I have now instead of selling it on ebay. I think I want to have a classic Chevy from 66 to 70. 66 Chevelle SS, 67 Nova, 68 Camaro, 69 Camaro, 70 Chevelle. I’d be happy then

100% true, just hard to admit when selling.:banghead:

Anything that is worth less than what you paid for it is not an investment. I always used to laugh when I saw the sticker under the hood of my old car. “Protect your investment, use genuine BMW parts” I just used to think, Investment? Who are they kidding?

$21k and some change for the car. (Financing)
$3350 between winter rims/tires, performance parts and labor.
