So im looking at buying the car in the craigslist add above as a daily/ winter car. That dent/ scuff on the left side is what im wondering about.
Obviously it will need to be painted and popped out. Do anyone have any clue roughly what something like that would cost. Paint im not very picky about as long as it looks better than it does. If anyone on here does this kind of work and would quote me that would be fine as well!
at a traditional collision shop, having that entire quarter panel sprayed and blended is going to be around $1000, not including repairing the dents. I do this kind of stuff on the side from time to time, but I do not have room in my schedule to offer to do it.
Hmm I appreciate the info man. Do you have their contact info? I could be ok with spending 4-500 on it again im not wanting or expecting showroom quality on a dd/ beater.
if that’s all you’re after, you would be better off pushing out the dent as best you can yourself after removing the inner door panel, slapping some filler on there, sanding it out, and using duplicolor perfectmatch from the autoparts store, with some Spraymax 2K clear over it (real clear charged into a spraycan). You’ll spend about $150 and a half a day doing it.
Hmm thats not a bad idea actually. I just kind of wanted to see what a professional job would be looking like vs someone on the side vs me doing it myself. Thanks for the info man

Haha I was thinking about it but want something a little newer with a little less miles since i drive alot now.
for just a DD i wouldnt even worry about that or waste money fixing it…also trying to do it yourself if you have no experience will prolly look worse than just leaving it as is. Save the 800-1000 and use it for something else
alright ladies this wasn’t a thread asking what you think I should do with my car/ cars. I just want to know if anyone did this kind of work or how much it would roughly be.
Ive sold many of my civics as the come and go like everything I own. Mostly because I cant ever keep two cars where im at.
if you’re going to spend 3000, and then an additional 500 or so, why not just find a car that doesn’t need body work.
You can find decent cars for that much.
Ive looked for a little while. I wouldnt be paying 3,000 for this car and it has a new motor and clutch with paperwork. Thats the only reason why I haven’t just found something else I guess. Preludes are awesome cars, Ive had two of them but they suck on gas lol.
