how much money and time does it take to do a h22 swap into a 6th gen?

I know it sounds dumb…but he talked trash on alot shops local and made me feel as it he was my only source to geting it done ( he started it and it would be hard to start over with someone else)

also, i dont know who strict fab is… but in their defense, i’m sure it’s not easy to be the second shop on the job. God only knows what types of bullshit shop A put your car through, but it obviously wasnt done properly. so they must have had a hell of a time trying to figure out what was going on.

no to add to your second comment…I just wanna say that he could have probably done it MAYBE( cause he didn’t ) the car looked clean when I towed it away…to the work he did= i dunno how good it really was…basically hybrid would have to add to this later ( since they know more than me )

what i will say is I paid for the car to be completed…and that never happened in that 10 months period

Swapping an H22 into any honda should not take more than 3 days total, if that, if working say 8 hours a day. I did my first h22 swap into a civic in under a week of part time working at it long before there was much info out about the swap. I would think perhaps 2 weeks at any reasonable shop would be plenty of time, allowing for working around other customers vehicles, ordering of misc. overlooked parts/upgraded parts, etc.

As for swap pricing, I would expect to see a huge range on potential prices as those swaps span a lot of years and newer low mileage ones are obviously going to be worth more. I’ve always paid a bit more for the complete swaps I bought but was always very pleased with the service and products I got (in fact my first h22 swap is still running strong after a second transplant into a members car on this board I believe). Just the same, I’ve wrenched on “customers” cars who bought more bargain priced stuff and received lower quality parts or missing items and often times had odd problems later.

So who attempted the H22 swap in the first place?

first- it was the only car in the garage…but here and there some vehicles other than mine where worked on NO BIGGIE THERE!
secondly…yeah the motor came with ECU, 30 day start up warranty ( obviously a void for timeframe, non-lsd, less than 40,000, and shipped ) but come on now there aren’t really TOO many differences it a jdm h22a

I remember someone talking about a girl swaping an h22, in fact someone came over to my house to check out a h23vtec i had for sale. at this point in time i knew someone was way over there head but i couldent do anything about it because i had no clue who it was…

here is the deal. she is not the only person he has fucked over. via w/ labor, or over the net. been running into to many cases of this w/ this person. no one wants to speak up, so i did, although i didnt mention names as i figured it would come out.

as for strict fab, they tried to do the work. however, w/ matt having no staff that could turn a wrench, and him doing his other shit, her car got pushed aside. of the 700 she spent there, i’d say 90% of it went toward parts–mostly shit that was missing off the engine sensor wise and little stupid shit liek oil/filter/plugs/wires, and the 10% toward labor on stupid shit. believe me, i had him break it down when i towed the car out of there. she actually got money refunded from there.

im sure people are asking, why aint i doing the swap. simple. i dont step on shops toes that im friends w/. i stick to german cars. you dont see me wrenching on chevy, honda, or anything outside of german shit unless it is a friend in the garage.

I would hope the other side would see this and offer his side of the story. If not, then they truely fucked her over and knows it, in that case, take his ass to court and get your money back. If that doesn’t work, we on the board have a lot of connections in the pittsburgh car area and can pretty much spread the word so he gets no more business. just let us know, I really hate to see people get fucked over from a shady shop.
