How to get around windows admin?

i sense bitterness on this subject. I think the time and make a friend route is the best way to go. It’s not a big corperation so the network is just locally managed. At the old company i was at the top of the food chain, so i could do whatever i wanted for the most part. It sucks being the low man again. But better off in the long run.

best thing to do is to come up with a legitimate reason for you to have the an admin account for your workstation. once you can get admin privileges, you’ll be able to install anything you want within reason. BTW - winamp is not a legit reason, neither is google toolbar.

A good legit reason would be the need to install syncing software for a PDA or a phone… hint hint

hahah ^^^

just have them put you in the local admin group on the domain

If they have script logic or something of that sort, GP will override local policy.

OR BE LIKE ME AND PICK UP BUFFALOWIFI.ORG

that was actually a joke, considering if the pc is locked down he wouldent have rights to add himself into the local admin account anyways

ehh, GP sucks balls, of course im running it here with novell also, which causes issues from theget go

I always use the google toolbar… I have no problems w/ spyware…

Even better: Remote access your computer at home from your computer at work. Then you can surf all you want and it will be difficult to track.

(assuming of course they don’t lock down the built in Remote Access in Windows XP)

or webex if ytou have that
