Unfortunately you have to request that at the time of the violation to the officer and it is his/her discretion to allow you to have option 3.

option 3 is the trial option… aka pleading not guilty
how can the officer have discretion over whether or not you can plead not guilty??

the cop tells you you have 14 days to come to a decision, plus you have an additional 30 days ontop of that, that they dont tell you about, so technically you have 44 days to decide how you wanna plead your case,
I haven’t got a speeding ticket yet, however i got the failure to prove up to date insurance forms, i got a $65 ticket and I called my mom to bringe the new ones and he still gave me the ticket… Also boosted my insurance by $300 a year! Bastards…
