hub bolt replacement...

can’t quite get the new hub bolts (wheel studs) in all the way :?

i’m assuming it’s a lot easier if the hub is removed from the driveshaft first… but the problem is i don’t have the socket size required to loosen that monster bolt! what size is that thing anyway?

i believe its 33 or 36 mm

also i think you need to press in those new studs

there was no way for me to press them in and no room to bang them from behind… does the hub have to come off?

You should be able to bang from behind if you take the dust cover for the
brakes off. Me and Adam did that when we were doing my 300zx brake
upgrade and had to switch the studs in order to use the 5mm spacer.

Hey guys, wheel studs need to be pressed, but they are presses them self. You only have to line up the stud so the teeth are interlocked. I think there’re teeth!!!.. After tap them just until they stay in place, put your wheel on, when you titan you wheel that will draw the stud into the hub!!! Hope that helps

thanx guys, I’ll give it a shot!

I think you’re best bet would be to remove the hub, and press them in with a shop press. i wouldn’t want to drive with loose studs, can be a reciepe for disaster if your wheel falls off. i have heard of people hammering in the studs, but don’t drive with loose studs on.

Just use a hammer with some white lithium grease and your good to go.
The usual problem with changing them is little metal shavings getting in the way.
