Hyundai Genesis 2.0T puts down 197 WHP and 227 lbft stock

there is no other car out on the market like this today besides the sky n solstice. and the sky n solstice arent in the same price range. and they dont have americas best warranty lol

how is the handling on these things? wonder how much weight u could take off this thing. i.e interior n ac

so this is the next coming of the sport coupe apparently.

There’s this thing called variety, it really helps boost HP numbers and competition.

This just wakes up some competitors to build something better…in some cases they already have something better.

RWD adds weight most of the time btw.

Maybe this will convince GM to keep Pontiac going in the go fast direction, this would be a niche vehicle to compete against.

I thought the Genesis had 300hp? That only the sedan than?

Camaro V8 Fuel Economy 2009/2010:
6.2 Liter with 6 sp manual trans – 16 city – 24 hwy
6.2 Liter with 6 sp auto trans – 16 City – 25 Hwy.

meh, its still a hyundai

The last like five posts are some of the stupidest I’ve ever read.

A guy I work with is planning to buy one of these in a few weeks I guess. He is a 22yo virgin. He also tried to pay me $300 once to borrow one of my BMWs for a weekend to try to impress a girl. Just sayin.

lol thats not nice

I did not take his money haha. Poor guy is a virgin life is already hard enough.
But seriously I fall under the “I am sick of hearing about this car” category. However once drive one or they start throwing down great numbers I might feel different about it.

COUPE
2.0t 215hp
3.8 v6 306 hp

SEDAN
3.8 v6 295hp
4.6 v8 378hp

so we’re arguing over the base motor? what the heck.

the base model motor is a flash away from potentially alot more hp than the upper model motor.

^ true, the possibilities with that piping-goodness in there are endless. i love this car, def wont have the money for it for a looooooong time, specially around here a RWD coupe is a pipe dream for me.

even just an exhaust and you’ll prolly get another 20 horses or so, my tib exhaust was so restrictive… this one is obviously the same way, if not worse… as you can see in the first post.

sorry for everyone who is sick of hearing about this car, but i’m curious how it’ll react to mods… just stumbled across this one crossposted on the 240sx forum

stock fuel pump and 600cc injectors, stock ecu with an AEM FIC for “management” :stuck_out_tongue:

oh and 70mph = 3676 RPM, and 100 =5252 RPM for that graph, redline is 6800 i believe

not too shabby, hopefully it stays together

Looks like an LS turbo chart. Welcome to the 1990s.
edit - nm I just noticed that was 20 psi.

Everyone that complained about weight needs to buy a Miata, everyone that complained about power to weight needs to buy a Miata then turbo it. /thread

No, i’m sick of hearing about these things too.

Hmmm I think my GF is getting one of these because they are cute

Such a car should not be driven by people who cannot appreciate it…

it’s like a commoner touching the queen.

Well yesterday i thought to stop by and drive one and see what they are all about. I stopped in at towne in OP and talked to a salesman by the name of Cal who I guess is or was a member on here cool guy let me do whatever i wanted on the test drive. They are going for sticker right now and supposedly are having no problem with that as in the hour i was there I watched a black one that i test drove get sold lol(they should have bought a different one)

Anyways on with the cars… they only have Auto’s so far however the salesman showed me the new Motor Trend with the yellow coupe on the front and in the stats the Auto is actually faster than the 6spd WTF!!! He said the 6cyl auto runs the 1/4 in 14 flat at 101 and the 6spd was 14.2 and couldnt even break 100 mph… Also the passing 45-65 was faster in the auto!

So first we drove the 2.0t HOLY SHIT IS THIS THING SLOW STOCK!!! It seriously felt like a mid-high 15 sec car! I was expecting so much more, now on the other hand that 6cyl auto was a ton of fun! I wanted to drive a 6spd stick, but now being i drove the paddle shifting 6-spd auto i loved it! Very smooth, torque everywhere i loved it loved it loved it!!!

Then i drove a tiburon that they have on the showroom… This one i may seriously buy!
Black on black 5spd BRAND NEW stickers at 18,1xx and he would sell it to me for $13,999 with 0% i really didnt go in there for a tiburon but it is kinda sexy and for that price and a 10 year warranty why not!

I can see broads wrapping thse things around trees like mad. And all the dudes that drive tiburons thinking their cars are now fast.

The Thundrbird SC/TC comes to mind whenever I think of that.
