I bought a Honda, dear lord what am I doing?

First of all nice socks :lol . And the car is coming along awesome dude, great job!!!

Thanks man, think I got those bad boys at walmart

Well, it’s been sometime having the CRX out as my beater/daily driver. Absolutely loving it. Averaging mid 30s for gas which isn’t horrible & it’s only costing me 35 dollars a week, saving me 20 bucks a week not driving the GLI 70 miles a day to Selkirk. Now that stage 1 is complete, it’s time to leak some plans for stage 2 of this build.

Although the d15 is a solid running engine in this car, lets face it she’s no speed demon. I currently have the oppurtunity to get my hands on a b18b1 for cheap & after watching this: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTOa7OaSifg&feature=related[/ame] (this is a b20 but still inspiring) I’ve decided that come winter time the CRX will go under the knife again. Now, just b/c I have the means of getting ahold of this motor does not mean that will be the power plant that goes in it. However, here are my plans for the winter:

-New power plant swap (All motor, no turbos)

-Completely stripping the body down & repainting it to the original silver & replace dented fender & door.

-Go low, either coilovers & simple drop springs/struts

-Either lower profile tires or find a set of steelies to put some nice tires on. (building a sleeper)

-Figure out the seating. Maybe some ef si seats or something.

I know a lot of you guys love this build thread so far, hell someone found me on facebook to see the progress of the car on a more frequent basis. I also know a lot of you guys on here love hondas so I figure if I need any help, I’m sure plenty of you guys have advice from doing it yourselves. Right now my main focus is selling the GLI & finding a clean b5 again. Once that’s taken care of, it’ll be time to start gathering the pieces for stage 2 of this build. I absolutely love this car to death & have zero intentions of selling it in the near future. She’s definitely a keeper. I’ll be posting up on here often seeking advice so hopefully with some help from you guys, a lot of internet searching & some hard work this time next year, the CRX will look like it did the day she rolled off the boat from Japan in 89. Until then, I’m just going to enjoy the non vtec joy it brings to me.

Been working on the CRX slowly but surely. Finally replaced the ripped up stock crx seats with some 95 integra seats, replaced the lugs with some open ended black lugs, threw some sony speakers in it & got some h&r lowering springs on gsr struts for it. Just waiting on my new lower control arms to come so I can install the suspension. I also painted a set of steelies for it a nice tan camo. Next up is paint & throwing new body panels (doors & fenders) on it to get it looking a lot better. I’m looking at moving next year either west or down south so I want a nice fwd car to enjoy the nice roads down there.

Well the time has come to repaint the honda. We’re knee deep in the body work right now. Bought some new fenders off MidThrust which we’ve already sanded & primed, a carbon fiber hood (1 less thing to paint), started repairing my poor excuse of body work on the 1/4 panels I did the 1st time. Still not 100% on a color. Torn between red or white. Any thoughts?

Subaru aspen white pearl.

White would be sweet but I feel like red would too. I’ll figure it out

Honda Championship White.

I feel like every old civic/crx that I see (not that many any more lol) if it’s not that tan gold color it’s red.

all of the older hondas i’ve seen have been silver.

IMO if youre doin a CF hood a dark gray would look good like this, http://www.flickr.com/photos/26606727@N07/3629477862 . or championship white if youre set on white and red. BUT, its youre car do what you want. Or a tan/cream color would look good.

Busy day today at my place working on the CRX. Started at about midnight after seeing Ted, I shot the whole engine bay with bedliner. Installed my full amber corner lights, smoked the center tail light, shot some red over the orange part of the tail lights, cleaned up my greedy headers & shot them with some header paint & now the car is completely primed minus the bumpers (waiting on a new front bumper to get delivered/still trying to find a new rear bumper). Car’s slowly but surely coming along & looks like my plans to have it back on the streets by the end of july will be happening. I also bought some parts to do a mpfi swap. Still got a long way to go but I can start to see the light at the end of this jdm tunnel. Hopefully getting color on the old girl next week. Stay tuned…

Well the little turd is no longer army green. Paint is finally done. Now time for suspension & some wheels & tires. She’s no show winner but considering what she looked like before, I’d say she’s come a long ways.

Don’t mind the dusty hood

omg bedliner is so hard to get off once you change your mind…

must say, i liked the OD Green better. gave it a more srs look.

looks good I always liked crx’s

Good job bringing it back

Actually did the bedliner b/c it’s such a neutral color, it’ll go with anything & I can lay tools on it & not worry about a thing

Green was fun for a while but it was time to do it right

Thank you, always have liked 'em too

Thanks, tried the best I could. Far from perfect but definitely better than before

Finally got my Greddy header & rear lower control arms in. Not lowered yet, have to replace some rear trailing arm bushings 1st but we’re getting there. Little raspy but actually was able to spin the tires so I’ll take that any day of the week. If all goes as planned, I should be picking up a mint set of hx rims powder coated white Thrusday. I really would like to get the mpfi swap done but I’m not too confident in doing that myself. Anyone on here able to do it for a reasonable price? I called Synaps for kicks & giggles & was quoted 1,000 dollars. Here’s a few pics. Nice to be able to drive it around again. Oh, the b5 a4 in the pic is my new project :excited

You sir are in luck.

It’s not that hard of a job. I’v done several of them. Get all your parts and its a one day job.

The A4 the same one you picked up the seats from me with?
