THE TRUCK IS NOT BEING DRIVEN IN THE WINTER. END OF STORY! if u want to procede and call me an idiot for that, please be my guest.
sure…idiot
update:
i called today about that red A4 in my first post, and talked to the guy and wheeled-and-dealed for about an hour on the phone and we agreed on a price, so i will be going to get it hopefully one day next week. i thought long and hard about the trade off of not having AWD, and came to realize that there really arn’t a lot of times where i would really need AWD. if it snows that badly and i absolutely have to go out, i can always use my mom’s blazer. again, please feel free to rip me apart for buying a 2wd Audi for my DD. that is all.
I’ve never had a huge terrible problem with driving a 2wd car in the winter.
Nor have I…I’ve had pretty good success with 4 snows on the SHO…with lowering springs…and towing a snowmobile in some nasty weather. never once got stuck.
Mikes98RT…glad to hear you came to a conclusion.
LXTASY, i dont want u to think that i ignored u when u suggested looking into SHOs, but my family has had extremely horrible luck with fords over the years, and i don’t think that would go over too well if i came home with a tarus and called it my ‘reliable daily driver.’ i really do like that era SHO though, i just have a thing with Fords (unless its a mustang)…
Oh no I wasn’t trying to sell you on a SHO exactly…just more or less stating a fact that you can find a reliable FWD car for under $4k, as long as the car had been properly maintained…also a FWD car with snows on all 4 corners can hold it’s own in the slippery stuff. I’ve been lucky with my car partially because I’ve been around the SHO for a while and know what to look for. I think you made a good choice with the Audi.
