I said I thought it could be done. So I decided to prove it

WTF? how do you know him? lol

The space is huge. Those pictures don’t even show the 2 car side bar, nor the storage room, nor the bathroom.

I went to RIT for 3 years. I know a lot of the ROTC guys, mostly AF though. He was in my major so I knew him too.

Do I know you? lol

I lived across the hall from him freshman year and a few doors down the next year.

I don’t think so, you might recognize me?

Guess I don’t know you oh well. lol

I created a group on facebook so I can share the info with people not on forums and that I don’t know: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/group.php?gid=61414993254

Yea, not recognizing you lol…

A little update on this:

A week ago I was pulling out hair thinking I was going to go in debt over this thing, only a few people had contacted me about it and none of them had paid…

Today I had to turn down three people because I only have 5 spaces to store cars. Already I can work out the numbers and establish the fact that a garage with more access would be ideal, a 2nd or 3rd garage door would maximize “profits”

With The Shop the way it is now I had to bring the prices of the storage spaces to $150 from my original $100 estimate and really push to get the “workspace” people who just need access to the building and will only leave tools and such.

To make rent I need a minimum of 4 of those people even iff all the storage spaces are full.

That is still a fair asking price, a lot of places charge near that for just storage.

Devil however is in the details, this will all come together slowly but surely.

Good luck Mike!

im pissed i left roc city. i lived in spencerport for 2 years, brockport for a year and worked at circuit city. i remember your posts from when i was on roclife.org and when i was there i always had to store my car outside. good luck with this. i know if it were around here i could get some people together. im just happy i have a 2 car and carport now.

Thanks.

If you don’t mind, join up that facebook group to help spread the word. Letting people know about it is half the battle.

This is becoming quite successful. I’ll have to snap some pictures tomorrow.

You definitely should!

You can talk to Singh to develop a website for it as well, to help people understand exactly what you’re doing without having to explain it every time.

Plus helps in getting the word out.

possibly. Right now I’m just using that facebook page.

I finally snapped some pictures. you can see the spot to the left of the civic has been filled by one guy’s stuff but he hasn’t been able to bring his car in to do the teardown he’s planning. The spot to the far left is gonna be for a 11s neon with a blown head gasket whenever he can get it towed in.

I have 3 workbenches setup and the little backroom is starting to fill up with plenty of parts.

so you’re all filled up or is there one spot left?

All the spaces are filled up for March.

That civic there is just getting a new clutch put in so they paid extra to be in for 1 month only. That means the adverts. will be back up around my campus soon to try to get someone to fill it.

We also have 3 people doing the “workspace” thing and just leaving stuff like wheels, tires, jacks and jackstands there. Hopefully I can get two more of them for next month.

Whats it look like for this summer? I may or may not need an actual work space.

This reminds me…I forgot to send you that list of stuff. You got a PM inbound.

Too early to tell about the summer really…

Ideally I would like to get the tires cleared out of the sidebay and have more people use that for actual work/storage space. I’ll keep in touch and let you know about when spots will be opening.

got an idea!..clear out those tires and bolt racks to the walls (use a ladder to get to them) ill snap a pic at work to show the shit we got goin on haha just an idea to get storage overhead to leave the underspace for working

Nice setup man, if only I saw this a few months earlier. I rent a small shop right in mendon, nothin compared to that tho, good luck with it
