That’s a crock of shit. We do cop calls all the time and never treat a car like that. That’s what jacks, wheel skates, and snatch blocks are for. Not only that, any tow driver with half a fucking brain knows that you can not lift the undercarriage of an Audi, BMW, or VW with the wheel lift or bed like that. It damages the oil pan and drivetrain. What that driver did was just pure laziness. At the very least he could of jacked the car up and removed the cinder blocks instead of creating further damage underneath the car. Another point-most new Audi, Me/Bes, etc come with tow HOOKS. You don’t hook under the car and drag it. It’s just stupidity. If the local blues or NYSP saw us do something like that, you bet your ass we would never hear from them again.
Little to no payment? I don’t know how Albany County and such does it, but our town sets our rates at $65 minimum hookup and $75/ calender day storage as soon as it hits the lot vs. $65 tax for local towing of customers. If no one pays, guess what? It goes to auction after 30 days, scrap, or donated for the local FD to practice on.
